How much to move up to #2 in Draft?

Fitt has made several blunders, but there is no way he trades up that far. I would have a stroke. Stroud might end up being like a Geno Smith or a flop, and consider the draft capital lost if he flops. Unacceptable risk imo. Draft a QB at 9 or whatever, or roll with Sam/Corral. I can accept either of those options, but if we move up I'm going to flip out on here worse than the Brian Burns trade debacle.

That move would hurt the Panthers more than it would help them because neither Young or Stroud are  a Andrew Luck, skill set  QB.

If you think Stroud or Young is it, then you go for it. Hopefully it takes less but they need a franchise qb that can come in and start soon

The absence of Jaycee Horn and Donte Jackson are the real story. Evans had touchdown receptions of 57, 63, and 30-yards.

That was their entire offense and the Panthers would have been a playoff team with a slightly better, or healthier, secondary.

I assume we will be picking at 8 or 9 and i’d rather trade down than up. We need so many upgrades I’d love another 2nd round pick. So many guys in the top 50 could come contribute to this team early. And if we trade down to teens and gain a pick I’d feel way more comfortable with Mayer being picked or taking a shot at Richardson knowing we gained a selection to help build out the team.

Bingo!   FYI, this QB class thinned out so drastically and so fast that some team is going to REALLY reach for Richardson.   He should be a second round pick, but he'll end up in the top half the first, maybe even top 10.  I hope it isn't us.  He's a boom or bust prospect that will need a lengthy developmental period, basically the Jordan Love road.  We don't have that luxury.

    • when we drafted Bryce Young that team might have been more talented than the team we currently have ?  that was the whole reasoning behind morgagting  our immediate future to trade up to #1 overall for BY. our front offices & owners felt like hey guess what the time is now to srike while the iron is hot go hire an All Star coaching staff we were only a Qb away from taking that next step ..just saying
    • I just dont get the worry over losing a practice squad player that just went undrafted. Everyone just made their selections. The chances of a team wanting to sign him to an active roster after not selecting him is very low.  If that interested they would have taken him late to evaluate in person. As far as I can tell two qbs were signed off another teams practice squad last season and they were both going in to their 5th season.
    • I enjoyed reading this thread and the usual banter that follows. The only silver lining I can identify right now is we do actually have a couple of young QB's behind him and we do have a nice roster on both sides of the ball built around the most important position. So if the team overall shows some promise but we still falter largely due to a lack of consistent passing output (again) hopefully the decision makers can be free to make the best decision for the team going forward after the conclusion of this upcoming season.
