This is not a vindication of the NFL in any way.  Actually makes Vincent out to be at best uninformed.

I would be fine if they came out and said they didn't act to change protocol immediately and so teams were told 5 minutes but never forced into it... but they will be changing rules about protocol in the future so there's no question on the 5 minute resumption again

I get Vincent has a job to do, but still...

Good on Shannon for setting Skip straight.

Let's gooo...

A major ditto to both.

Although I doubt is Sharpe set Bayless straight, because the guy wanted to double down on what he had said and would have had Shannon not stopped him.

As for Hamlin, that is great news.  If his doctors see what they had been hoping for and his family is happy, not much more needs to be said.

Update:

So the league has gone from "We never said that!" to "Well, somebody said it. We don't know who but SHAME ON THEM!!!" 🙄

Where is roger goodell? He’s the commissioner. How much is Vincent being paid to take these bullets for the shield?

Putting Vincent out there is smart because he's a way better speaker than Goodell.

Ultimately though, he's still stuck defending bullsh-t.

Where all those posters now trying to say we were jumping to conclusions? Ah, Joe Buck was just spouting off and misspoke. He said it FOUR times. He didn't misspeak. He came out later and verified he was told this by someone in direct contact with the NFL office and certain posters still wanted to try to cover for the NFL. Well, what now?

    • Question to the posters on this thread because you are knowledgeable--I love watching and pull for the Canes, but I never played so I don't have the understanding I had when I played football then watched it.  Having said that, Do you think we are weak at Center?  I see the team to be pretty strong on the wings, promising defense, and weak at Goalie.  It would be ideal if the Canes had 1 more position to upgrade, not 2.  I don't think you can count on Anderson to play a full season and he is 35.  However, are we solid at Center in your view?
    • Couldn't agree more, Kooch is erratic and Freddy is fragile, maybe save the remaining cap space for a goalie stud at the deadline
    • There is one play that sold me-- it was around 2:38, I think.  It was 4th and 1 and the QB telegraphed and threw the ball out wide to TMac.  He had no blocking (the TE was very late) and four defenders collapsed on TMac behind the LOS. They seemed to know it was coming.  He got hit behind the LOS and battled through several hits to get three yards.  THAT play showed me his fire.
