Unpopular opinion....  I am amazed at the drama of this whole situation...  In the real world life and death happen all the time on the job...  Its a good thing nurses, emergency personel, law enforcement, and military dont need all this drama after every unpleasant incident...  Hope the dude makes a full recovery but come on.....

Football isn't the real world.

I guarantee he’s been going off on Twitter about the 💉 Lots of scumbags in the world. Millions of us were traumatized by watching a kid die on television. It’s not hard to understand why all the coverage unless ur purposely being obtuse. So proud of the medical staff for saving this young man

I know, but it makes a difference when people see it happen.

The emotional impact of seeing something happen vs just hearing about is night and day.

We’ve all had those ‘you had to be there’ experiences.

Yeah, I saw a dude hit by a trash truck in DC once. Pretty rough.

Quick snippet UNC Health

Commotio cordis is very rare. Only about two dozen cases are reported every year. “It's actually more common in activities like martial arts and sometimes baseball, if you catch a baseball to the chest.2 days ago

I believe it has happened to high school kids playing lacrosse too

...asking who won the game...

I'd show him all the donations to his charity and all the messages of love and support and tell him, "you won."

Of course he’s going to ask. It’s probably the last thing he remembers. I doubt he remembers anything between standing up after the hit and now.

    • I encourage you to go back and watch his college play. Notice how he immediately backpedals to 10 yards behind the LOS on almost every snap. You can't do that in the NFL. Your OTs have no chance of keeping those freak show edge rushers off of you. You can't create a pocket that deep. Bryce can chuck it when he has an airport runway in front of him to step up into. There's a reason why "ease of creating velocity" is such a talking point evaluating QBs. It's not how hard or how far you can throw the ball given a perfect situation. It's how hard and how far you can throw the ball in a typical NFL game situation and that's where a lot of my concerns with Bryce were going into the draft. There were way too many plays in his college tape that if you were watching that purely in terms of translating it to the NFL it just didn't work.
    • Yeah, like I said I get it. From a revenue perspective I'm not a good customer for them. They've probably intentionally tanked offline franchise mode to try to get people online. Again, not a terrible strategy from a pure business perspective. I can't really be mad at them for doing what's good for business but yeah, from my perspective it still sucks.
    • Ok let me be more specific. Smith was a stud before Newton got here do you not agree? Yes, LaFell improved under Cam but then had his best years after leaving the Panthers with Cam as the QB and going to NE. So he improved playing with someone else. Olsen was in Chicage the year before Cam arrived and statistically had the same numbers his first year with Cam.  Hope that's clearer for you.
