That was me and you’re misrepresenting what I posted.

I said I’d like to see Darnold brought back for 2-3 years at 5-8mil per year. BUT, I also said the best case scenario would be Darnold having his worst game against the Saints so we could be on the lower end of that range.

Lo and behold, my wish was granted and look where his value is now.

You are aware that website isn't an NFL team, correct?

They give approximate values(Overthecap, which is a better source typically, has his at $3.046 mil) that may or may not get hit.

Sportrac also has Baker Mayfield's value listed at $6.5 mil. Guess we should just resign him instead, huh? Given how much that value chart means.

Care to wager at over/under 3.5mil since 3.046mil "may or may not get hit?"

@ECHornet I will take action on that Darnold bet at +/- $3.5 mil for his 2023 salary.

$200?

Note: Can't reply to the post or anything on Page 6 in this thread. Bad code or something. This site really is garbage from. a technical standpoint.

I'm good for $100. Virtual shake on it?

One-fifth of the Panthers fanbase would rather lose with UNC's quarterback than win with anyone else. Not saying Maye sucks because he doesn't, at least in college.

But it was Sam Howell before him, and Mitch Trubisky before him, and Marquise Williams before him, and TJ Yates before him, and Darian Durant before him

did you see the game Sunday? Sam Howell blows midsy corral out of the water. AND we would have our 3rd round pick this year if we had just stayed put and drafted him in the 4th.

    • I mean, if Moore really wants out, then it would behoove the Bears to make it happen sooner than later. X is a lot younger and cheaper, and may be a better fit for Johnson's musings than a disgruntled, unnecessary, overpaid vet. If they can dump his salary and maybe get a fourth or so in return, it may be worth it to them. As for development, I'm not concerned. You're talking about a seeming bust, a day three guy and a UDFA. They are developing relative to their ceilings. I doubt any of them will ever command the coverage, money, or the respect that Moore has acquired. He's a tier above them. Yes, even X.
    • IMO, if Ceedee plays against us, the game probably goes the other way. Same with Tyreek Hill and the Dolphins. Our team just isn't designed to beat teams with two high level receivers like that. But when you look at the league, how many teams really have two guys of that caliber?  There's nothing wrong with defensive adjustments, but sometimes I think a lot of fans want Evero to call a different play like a game on madden, and defensive football just isn't like that. That said, I thought we did a much better job this season against the Cowboys of flipping Jaycee and at least making them work for it, opposed to last season when they literally just lined CeeDee up on the other side of the field every single snap.  For us to just straight up switch to consistent man coverage, or a different zone, or whatever, we likely would consistently need different personnel on the field. Doing it a few times a game is a gamble and can work, but if we consistently run man coverage against the Cowboys, eventually a RB is going to beat a linebacker, or something of that nature with our personnel. Part of the reason Evero likes this scheme is that, while we have our defaults and presets, what we do is very multiple, and you can do a lot of different things pre and post snap. We are a challenging defense to read. But as you said, if guys are getting beat, it doesn't really matter what you call.
