What some fans continue to fail to understand is if we get Payton then QB play here will be fine regardless of who is under center. His system is that good.
We’ve got the the Defense. All the pieces are in place.

It's hard to really know since Brees was never out for enough time during Payton's entire HC career to really see if this is true.

Could've just been a really good HC-QB marriage where neither could have really done what they accomplished together on their own.  Takes two to tango.

At least it’s proven unlike Steichen or Kafka or whoever

What's proven? That Brees and Payton work well together? Sure.

How does Payton do with a new guy? And in a changing NFL landscape?  There's still some pretty major risk, add in giving up big draft capital.

That's a qualification I'd agree to if we were talking about Andy Reid.

I'm not sure that applies to Payton.

If we go Sean Payton and give up draft capital then I would hope that Derek Carr would look at the situation and see a good foundational roster (especially the O-Line and above average defense), relatively easy division, and probable Hall of Fame head coach and decide to come here to find that championship he said he is hungry for. If I was Payton I would already be talking to Carr to see what he is thinking because they could go somewhere together. Some talking heads mentioned Tom Brady as the package deal QB but I would rather have Carr. If Payton can get Carr looking like the potential league MVP from a few years back then I would love to see what they could do together.

If Panthers were to cough up the #9 pick this year for Payton then they shouldn't give up anything else period. You could look at Derek Carr as our first round pick, and he would be better than any of the guys coming out this year, at least over the next couple years. Let Corral keep developing.

IMO

I’d prefer Shane Steichen as head coach! There is several different coaches that would make a good OC’s: Former HC’s, up and comers, and current/former OC’s. Some DC candidates: Vic Fangio, Kris Richards, Sean Desai, etc.

The candidate of Mike Kafka is his KC Chief ties!

I hope our interview with Shane was a good one, and we interviewed Manuel & Fangio with consideration of hiring him.

I just don’t see SS in AZ, I have to imagine they want experience like maybe Quinn (+Bevell as OC) per reports, maybe Payton in DEN, HOU gets Gannon. And would Indy really want to try a guy that was mentored by the guy they just fired?

We’re honestly in a good spot if Steichen is the guy Dave wants.

    • Personally I think he's a nightmare to cover I think linebackers generally aren't fast enough to keep up with him in coverage and cornerbacks don't have the strength to tackle him one-on-one in physically bring them down which would normally lead to a broken tackle or a nasty stiff arm or just bully ball play sure you could find a receiver with comparable speed like Cooper but he's faster than Cooper sure you can find a wide receiver that is the same size but he's probably More powerful than them and a better blocker.  The size speed athleticism package that he is in is completely unique it's easier to say I'd rather have just a big blocker because we've never seen this type of profile before I'm a risk taker I think you would be God blessed if this was there at 19 I think if you can get a guy that's a tight end who immediately becomes the fastest guy on your offense and at the same time that third wide receiver that can stretch and burn defenses over the top that's the perfect what the Panthers need type weapon.
    • I think you're under selling Sadiq. They are two different players in terms of how they win. Loveland is 2 inches taller maybe 5-6 pounds heavier. Comparing his speed to sadiq.. well your comparing a 4.7 guy to a 4.3 guy I'm seeing a guy that can take a bubble screen from the tight end position and turn it into a house call. I'm not saying the guy is a certified home run pick but I don't think there's really a president's for a comparison for this kind of athlete. It's easy to say this doesn't look like Warren or Loveland because we haven't seen guys that fit this profile The closest you might be able to get is Vernon Davis.  He's not as sure far as those guys were but at 19 I think almost everybody is going to have some warts and he's a lottery ticket of could be top 10 in the draft player or could fail I am more of a risk taker I think he fits the athletic profile that could be a homerun, like I said he's almost 40 lb bigger than Cooper and like 4-5 in taller than Cooper so and he's faster. So whatever you think Cooper gives you I think he does that and more. If you want to go with one of the office alignment I can understand that as well but for value as a receiving threat I don't think there's a bigger value at number 19.
    • I’ve haven’t seen anything that says we have interest in Njoku?
