I disagree.

Your 1st priority is to win your division...meaning you need to be able to compete against 3 specific teams 1st and foremost.

Foxy and Ron use your approach....build the team the way they want to, rules and division be damned...

No. They didn't. They absolutely did not. Teams that win championships don't necessarily have a cookie cutter approach believe it or not. Furthermore, neither Fox or Rivera built anything. They did not have that kind of authority. I prefer someone that thinks outside the box and situationally manages, just like I prefer a coach that situationally coaches. I'd argue that neither Fox or Rivera did that consistently enough (if at all). Hence, they were never my favorite guys.

Lamar Jackson's situation is like anything else. The devil would be in the details. To make grand, sweeping statements, and precluding yourself from this or that based upon what someone else is or isn't doing simply makes little sense. You look at your situation---your pocket book---your personnel---your philosophy---your goals---and you go from there. That goes for Jackson or anyone else.

Just now, Mr. Scot said:

I don't know that it exists.

You'd be the one on the side of suggesting it does.

Not really. I didn't enter that line of thinking into the discussion.  I don't think that it matters. I could care less. If Jackson didn't travel for medical, personal or political reasons doesn't matter to me.

We all should be wise enough to analyze both sides of the situation and understand that there's not necessarily a right or wrong, and do this without casting some type of negativity based upon either side.

Here’s what Lamar’s teammate, Humphrey, had to say:

Many Ravens players said they didn't think about whether they would have won if their quarterback had been Lamar Jackson instead of Huntley, who also threw an interception on the opening drive. Jackson missed his sixth straight game with a sprained posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

Baltimore cornerback Marlon Humphrey estimated that Jackson is 50 percent to 60 percent healthy.

"I just don't think he really was healthy enough to really go out there," Humphrey said of Jackson. "There was a lot of speculation with him not having the contract. I don't even know if I should say this, but he's like limping around the facility. That's kind of the crazy thing that people don't see. Obviously, we knew that he wasn't going to be out there with us, but hopefully, we sign him to a big-term deal and he's a Raven with me forever."

Dobbins didn't hold back on how much the return of Jackson would've impacted Sunday's playoff game, either.

"If we'd have had Lamar, we'd have won too," Dobbins said.

Baltimore doesn’t want to move on. They just don’t want to give him a fully guaranteed contract. I don’t know why y’all are trying to make it like Baltimore is just tossing him to the trash. I guess that better fits your narrative

Baltimore wants him back

It proves my point.  They balk at the contract because they know he is likely to get hurt during that second contract.

lol...I would never use Bayless as a source. I ignore him.

Sean Payton expressed disagreement with Jackson’s decision to go public with his injury status, adding that Payton is “hearing grumblings” from the building, and that there are “teammates” who believe his “process has been slower than expected.”

The ringleader of bountygate? Come on lol. I was referring to you labeling him a quitter. We've had players here who have been oft injured but I haven't seen the "quitter" label casually tossed around. Injury prone sure but not outright saying a guy is only looking out for himself and screwing over the team. And Michael Vick of all people should know better than to say that after what he went through. It sounds hypocritical but that's his right. Social media now is full of whispers and claims of sources. Much of it is just nonsense. After what happen to Griffin and Newton over the years through all the wear and tear that eventually led to the demise of his career I do not blame a man for not wanting to further risk injury. We aren't talking minor discomfort. Knee injuries are a different story. It's kind of wild to see all this after Damar Hamlin too. I said it when it happened much of the concern was performative. Most fans don't actually care one way or another they just want to be entertained and telling a guy to just put a brace on it and possibly go blow out his knee is a pretty clear example of that.

He is not the first star player to miss a game, but I think the context of it is where the whispers are coming from. I mean the playoffs are supposed to be the stage where everything is put aside for the common goal. I don't care either way since it doesn't affect me, but the optics of him missing the game entirely, not even being there, are a little off.

Regarding Vick, and his 2 cents..Vick killed dogs. For fun and sport. That's all that needs to be said.
