He's a sixth year starter. If it hasn't happened yet it isn't likely too. He has a 58% career completion percentage. He isn't even accurate for all the physical tools you keep mentioning. There have been a number of other QB's who have had the same tools as Darnold who have not continually received the benefit of the doubt like he for some reason continues to get here. Hey at the end of the day one can choose to be a believer or a skeptic. The numbers and the eye test say he's who he is and who he's going to continue to be as a quarterback from my point of view. Again you have the right to believe what you want. Bur you were also a Kyle Allen believer at one point too so I'll leave it at that.

Sixth year?  He has played 5.  He is 25 years old.  But you are--once again--arguing against points I did not make.  Damn son.  I compared him with people who were considered busts in 2021, and I demonstrated how some were better with new coaches and new systems.  I said he has all the physical tools but the light has not come on yet, and it may not.

What the hell are you arguing against?  I never claimed to be a believer.  Not once.  Nadda.

He is entering his sixth season. For someone who isn't a believer you're doing a lot of arguing on his behalf. That's cool though. Appreciate the dialogue.

D.J. Moore is unquestionably the most underrated, underappreciated player in franchise history.

That may be true and there may be valid reasons (coaching, scheme, qb play) but compare him to the receivers on the top 10 teams in the league as far as impact

how many times other than the infamous falcons game this year, has it gone to DJ for the win….in his career here?

look, I’m a Maryland terp, so I’m not trying to be hard on him.  I just know what his career has been. He is a strong piece but to me he is not a top level wr1 receiver

Lotta people are down on Darnold right now, and with good reason.  However, Hurts, Goff, Lawrence, D. Jones, Tua---there are a lot of examples of QBs that people have almost given up on--called a bust--and then the situation changes, and they are suddenly better.

From the Jets to to the Panthers with Rhule--not many QBs would have survived that.

I mean, you can’t compare Trevor Lawrence or Tua with Sam Darnold’s upcoming 6th year.   They blew up in year 2 (Trevor) and 3.  Which is basically what and when you are looking for in a draft pick.    And Tua was winning and statistically good before they blew up in year 3.

Goff? Rattled off 4 winning seasons and pro bowls.   Was he what they wanted? Nope. So he got sent packing.  They wanted more.  Giving up on him being what you wanted doesn’t equate to basically Sam Darnold.  Darnold has never even sniffed individual production of Daniel Jones rookie season.

Sam Darnold is his own thing.  All the real comparables to Sam are got deemed irrelevant much sooner.  Any QB still being talked about after 5 seasons accomplished things Sam never was able to

OL is looking mighty good, even without boze it may still hold up around 12th........ With a good/great OL you can have a foreman look just as good as a CMC...

I think the jury is still out to some degree.  It’s improving.

It feasted on some bad run defenses. Which is still something  Especially minus CMC..   And then vs some good run defenses we could barely rush for 50 yards on the day repeatedly.

was very Jekyll and Hyde in terms of our run game.  Awesome or they couldn’t get the job done.

or maybe that’s a sign that Foreman isn’t good enough vs a good run D.  Who knows.

Yeah, he's far more respected among non-Panther fans. When you consider the QBs he's had to endure, and still put up big yardage, yeah. I'd go top-16. Probably around 12-15.

He hasn't shown he is top 16 other than in flashes.  Then there is the inconvenient fact that Jerry Rice would not have looked top 16 with our QBs, game plans, and before this year, OL providing protection for the poor QBs executing the shallow game plans.

DJ falls into that rather crowded category of people we hope to see more from with the new staff and QB.  He's probably the least of our worries of the skill positions.

    • I can say that I have defended Canales because I get that they are doing all they can to keep from looking like idiots for drafting Bryce, from the trade up to signing $150m guards to drafting XL and Brooks etc---nothing seems to work.  And Hiring Canales was part of the Bryce Young rehab program, so so he can't really decide to "move on."  That has to come from Morgan and Tepper. Personally, I think Bryce is due for an injury.  He is small, he is not thick, and he has been a LOT more healthy than most any other QB has who has endured so much pressure.  The thing that bothers me is this---Bryce really does not go through his progressions quickly.  He locks on to his presnap read and stays locked onto him for too long--he seems to fail to anticipate the WR/TE's positioning on the play before the cut--for example, if the WR is running a dig and the CB has his back to the inside of the field, he should be open for a second or less just after the cut.  He seems to wait until the cut has been made before deciding, then checking down quickly while moving in the pocket. OL:  There seems to be a lack of communication--is that on Mays?  Watch this team presnap--they seem a bit confused at times.   I can almost predict the success rate of the play by watching the center and QB before the snap.
    • Anyone else remember back in 2010 when Fox piloted having music under the in-game replays during one of Carolina's games? Not the commercial bumpers but the actual replay clips that the announcers would talk over. Pretty sure it was vs the 49ers. And it was terrible. Point being, Carolina continues being so bad that we get the networks trying things out during their games.
    • Is it bad I found this video more hilarious than pathetic? I am still laughing at that one play where half the people on the field ran into each other and Bryce still couldn't see Chuba wide open... Also laughing at Cade blocking nobody and somehow losing his cleat Man this offense is a poo show
