So wait, we can hire Jim Caldwell who interviewed for the HC job, Evero who interviewed for the HC job, but not Wilks...?

Tepper showing his true colors here. Wilks never had a shot.

Maybe Wilks was offered a job but he declined?

No way Wilks made any sense here in the locker room with a different outside guy being the HC and Wilks, who won the locker room being #2.

This is going to be a rebuild. I hope fans realize this but it won't be a 1 year turnaround type deal. Especially not rolling with a rookie QB or Matt Corral, changing to a 3-4 defense, and with our salary cap situation.

That said, does anyone know if we've reached out to Eric Bienemy. He's another Eagles guy and has obviously been with Reid. You have to to think those two second half touchdowns that saw receivers wide open were Bienemy's doing as Reid was quite effusive in his praise after the game.

I think pairing him with Reich and McCown would be a very good staff.

I think we will be competitive in year one...maybe 9-8 or 10-7 and win the division. I think by '24, we should be more in the 11-6+ category of being a perennial contender in the NFC....something we've never been.

Our cap and draft capital might be an issue in '23 getting the QB we want and cleaning up dead cap and/or releases to open up the cap for '24 and beyond. I think next offseason is when we make our leap. Coaching staff has a year to evaluate and the new QB1 will have a year under his belt in Carolina.

Would love Bienemy here, but not sure he leaves that situation. If we got him here.....whoooooo, it would be an insane coup of hirings.

Fitterer has stated this is not a rebuild.

Reich has said the same.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
