How was that not a penalty on Jason Kelce???? Wow. And I'm surprised they didn't pull McDuffie for protocol after that.

Yea if the OL is close enough to immediately take the head off a DB, it’s an illegal man downfield unless the play was at the LoS…lotta little things like that going one way tonight.

A little bit more on the field ...

THIS grass was installed just two weeks ago. It gets rolled out every day to get sun and then gets returned to uh ... it's closet lol? But yeah, it's not the same grass they used all year. The question that needs to be asked is: how long does this rolling grass slab take to uhh ... "take"? I mean, it's not like it can root itself deep and there's a foot of dirt and whatnot everywhere. It's probably very thin, no? If it takes a month to (what's the word I'm looking for here) get all "worn in" and "tough", then they made a huge goof just installing it two weeks ago.

It's the eagles. If it was another team, that team would be flagged all the way out to the bus. Eagles just play this way and everyone knows it and they get away with it. Same with Johnson getting an early start every snap.

To be fair, tackles getting away with false starts isn't unique to Philly.  Just check out most teams we play week to week in a season.  poo is ridiculous.

They also said it was some kind of hybrid/"new" strain.  Seems like a bad time to be trying out experiments on a playing surface.

Worst field ever in Super Bowl history. Eat poo Roger Goodell.

It's 60 degrees on dry grass I have no idea how this is so slippery. It is basically a couple feet of dirt on a huge retractable stage so maybe it hasn't dealt with temperature swings very well or something

Yeah I can't imagine, unless it is just overwatered and is retaining moisture from that?  Only thing I could think of.  That and they said it was a new strain they hadn't used before, so maybe that strain is just naturally slicker.  Regardless, you would think they would have all of those t's crossed and i's dotted before this game.

It either stays inside or gets rolled out to basically the parking lot. There was youtube vid on it like 10 years ago. I've never seen it look this bad so yeah seems like they fuged up on switching it out only 2 weeks ago in the middle of winter

The stadium surface has always been an issue. When the BCSCG with Cam was there, players were slipping constantly. That was 2011.

    • I wonder if the Hornets view Kon and McNeeley more as forwards and plan to ship off Green/Okogie/Smith for center help. I hope they don’t plan to ship off Sexton as I like what he brings to the team. (2) G - Ball, Mann, Simpson (two-way) (3) G - Sexton, Dinwiddie, Connaughton (3) F - Miller, Knueppel, McNeeley, James (two-way) (3) F - Bridges, Williams, Salaun (3) C - Diabate, Kalkbrenner, Plumlee
    • 3 main reasons he was better in 2023 and none of them concern me for his NFL prospects 1. Totally new coaching staff that was a massive downgrade and had god awful play calling and designs, the entire fan base was ready to run the coaching staff out of town a month into their first season and the play caller ended up getting changed because it was so bad. 2. Along with the staff downgrade, his QB played significantly worse after being the Pac 12 Freshman of the Year in 2023.  Constantly missed T-Mac when he was wide open, lost out on a number of TDs and a good amount of yardage, half the time T-Mac still almost made miraculous catches on the bad passes too. 3. He hurt his ankle over the summer and missed all of fall camp only to return to practice a few days before the season started and I think he had to deal with it all season long and was slightly limping at times mid season too, but kept fighting through it to still be a 1st team All American.
    • Good luck to Burns. He’s fine as a third pairing defensemen but Rod is too stubborn to do that.
