#1 CJ Trade

As time passes I'm starting to like the idea of trading up for Stroud more and more. In the next few weeks we will see what QB will start to separate themselves from the pack to be the clear number 1 or they all might continue to be lumped together as all #1 overall possibilities. This is worst case scenario for us to leverage a trade. I really hope something happens to cause his stock to drop like not going to the combine or only doing certain drills or even only a pro day at OSU. Everyone and their mother really thinks Bryce Young is the best and thats fine, let them think it. Let him go first, hell let the potential of Levis go right after him, but for the love of god we need to find a not so costly way of getting the poise of CJ Stroud behind our line like yesterday!

If this was 2024 and Caleb Williams or Drake Maye are up there then I am all about it. But when you have a bunch of QBs that every one views differently and aren't even the top overall prospects on the board, then I am passing.

If that is the case for our coaches, they need to trade back and pick up a first next year from someone. You either suck enough to get your QB or you pay up in draft capital. I’m fine with either, but my goodness…. Pick one and don’t be mediocre.

Oh my. Is one of the bully posters mad? Lol. No matter. For some reason it makes you upset that Stroud has a following. You’re just one of those old dudes that hate when folks get attention and want to be contrarian. It’s ok. I’m not stopping you. I didn’t even quote you.

Does not bother me he has a following. It bothers me when you imply some negative connotation to those that are not.

Just a question to anyone.

I’ve read different places about what the colts would probably have to give up to move to #1 (23: 1st, 2nd, 5th; 24: 1st), but I figure the bears are going to want more draft capital than that! But if the bears would accept a offer of that magnitude I’d think I’d be willing to give up (2) 1st (23’ & 24’), 2nd (62), and 5th (148) to move up to #1! What is your opinion on this scenario?

Thankful you aren't the Panthers GM.  The next step after that is people saying, "Imagine if we had talent around him."

I don't think that's enough, but if it is then absolutely!  Fitt can get those 3rd/4th rounders back by trading back.

Agree, I'd make that trade today lol.

Jesus, if they'd be willing to accept that then you bite their hand off

Here's what Chicago would ultimately be getting for trading the most prized pick in the draft

A first rounder 8 spots lower than where they started

One extra pick in the 3rd and 4th rounds.

An extra #1 pick in 2024

An extra #3 pick in 2024.

If Fields turns out to be a legit starter in the NFL, and Chicago hits on all of those choices it would/could  help turn that team around immediately. Here's a look at the picks they already have.

  • Round 1, No. 1 overall.
  • Round 2, No. 56 overall (from Ravens)
  • Round 3, No. 65 overall.
  • Round 4, No. 103 overall.
  • Round 4, No. 134 overall (from Eagles)
  • Round 5, No. 136 overall.
  • Round 5, No. 148/159 overall (from Ravens)*
  • Round 7, No. 220 overall.

  • If we really coveted a guy at the top of the draft that's not a bad deal at all for us. I'd take that deal immediately before they changed their mind.😆
  • Could be a win-win for both teams.

Agree. Trade back with TB who is in the market for a QB. Get JSN at 18/19. And let TB suck next year and have their top 10 pick.

    • Outside of cerrato, I do like our draft overall. Hard to get can't miss draft picks when you pick late in the draft
    • Very True--and I am a former HS English teacher.
    • Not a Moore fan-but he had a few good games last year-but I want players that scare you--Renfrow's route running and intelligence, Legette's size, speed, and strength, AT's intelligence and route running, Coker's body control, strong hands, and abilty to win contested catches, and TMac's size, body control, and ability to find soft spots in zone coverages.  Horn gives them the ability to stretch the field and he plays special teams.   Moore has a nice smile and can dance.  He filled in well last season, but to get better as a team, you have to upgrade your players.  I think Moore is a bottom of the roster guy who got bumped when we drafted 2 WRs and signed a legit free agent.  Here is the thing--TMac makes us better because he is great against the zone--man?  Good luck with that.  AT's role can be reduced, and that is probably a good thing.  He can specialize in situational football. Coker?  Just getting started. XL?  Just getting started.  Drafting TMac was probably a bit of a wake up call, but XL will be better as the 2. Renfrow?  I see him splitting reps with AT--keeping both fresh and giving different looks. Horn?  Watch the safety cheat his side when he is in the game--I see a young Steve Smith type in him, but he has yet to play a game.  I hear that Morgan loves him.
