You realize elite QB's get paid a lot of money right?

Allen/Burrow/Herbert will all get paid possibly more than Lamar.

Not sure why everyone is making a big deal out of Lamar's contract. QB's are the most important position in football when you get an elite QB be prepared to pay up. If not some other team will do it for them.

Theres a idea worth talking as its floating around.... In fewer words- As a team you draft the good QB and pay him to 7 years. Then flip him for a kings haul, allowing some other to sign 50 mill per, while you use the picks to find the next 7 year wonder. You can build a full team and win SBs(most happen within first 5) and then let some other team give him 25% of their cap.

Con is you can not trade Mahomes or burrow, so.........

The ESPN Ravens reporter said that anything can happen, bit he believes that the Ravens will use the exclusive tag in order to have more control as far as compensation is concerned. He doesn't believe that two firsts are necessarily enough.

Atlanta seems like the most realistic landing spot. They have the cap space to sign him to a massive deal and they are in the NFC.

I don't know how we deal with Lamar and Pitts but hey this is what you have to deal with when you don't pursue franchise QB's. Sometimes they end up in your backyard. Now we deal with them.

Update on the Lamar Jackson situation:

Stephen A Smith said earlier today on his show that Lamar Jackson camp reached out to him and said he never asked for a fully guaranteed contract. He said the Ravens offered him 133mil guaranteed and stopped at that number.

This tells me why Lamar is probably not going to be a Ravens. That offer is simply a slap in the face. 133 mil guaranteed for that caliber of player is just not right. If this is true we need to be going all in on Lamar. He clearly just wants more guaranteed money but he is not demanding the Watson contract like everyone has been reporting.

We must go all in on Lamar. Give them 3 1st round picks and 180mil guaranteed.

Lets go win a SB!

He doesn't want $180 million guaranteed. He wants $250 million guaranteed. With that, along with three first round picks, is a big no. If it was Patrick Mahomes or Joe Burrow, that's a no brainer as they are reliant on their arm. Jackson is reliant on his legs, and when you take that from him, what are you left with?

Hint: not a lot

I will believe Stephen A over some fake insder on a message board.

Lamar camp reached out to Stephen A and they literally told him the Ravens offered him 133mil guaranteed max and that's when the discussions stopped.

He never asked for the Watson contract the Ravens put that out to make him look bad. He probably wants the Watson contract but just with more guaranteed money not the entire contact fully guaranteed.

133 mil is just a bad offer. He's right to get out of that situation. Ravens literally put nothing around him for him to be taking that kind of paycut.

The Lamar camp is Lamar. He's his own agent. ESPN Jeremy Fowler has reported all of Jackson's counter offers to the Ravens have been for fully guaranteed money.

Unfortunately for him, it also doesn't look good that he's missed 25% of the season the past 2 years and is 4 years removed from his MVP campaign. The Ravens have an advantage over everyone else in that they don't have to give up draft picks as part of the deal and they still won't do it.

There's more to this than just not wanting to pay 133m guaranteed. The Browns were stupid to pay Watson what they did, fully guaranteed. That doesn't mean any other team has to be that stupid.

He does not want the Watson contract fully guaranteed!

He just wants more fully guaranteed money than the Ravens offered him. The Ravens ended negotiations after they gave him a final offer of 133mil guaranteed.

People are ignoring this key detail and just saying Lamar wants the Watson contract fully guaranteed and that's just not true. This is a NFL franchise trying to take advantage of a player being represented by his mom. The thing we should be discussing is why are the Ravens low balling that kind of player?

133 mil was their final offer for Lamar. That's just disrespectful.

I like Lamar and think under the right conditions and circumstances he can win a SB, but he’s not worth that plus the draft capital. It’s a resounding no.

Worth what?

Ravens offered him 133 mil guaranteed. Give him 160 mil guaranteed. That's a 27mil extra than what the Ravens offered. Yes I would trade all that for Lamar. We are the favorites the moment we trade for him. And we have the best QB in the NFC hands down.

I don't get people just comfortable sitting on picks with nothing to show for it. I want this team to win a SB in my lifetime. High level players are not coming to Charlotte. When they become available you have to trade for them.

The NFC is up for grabs and a marquee QB is available yet nobody wants to go after him.smh

Picture is becoming clear Ravens offered him 133 mil guaranteed and didn't go beyond that number. Ravens took advantage of his mom being his agent and put out rumors  saying he asked for the Watson fully guaranteed contract. Ravens are a shady franchise.

This man just wants more than the 133 mil they offered him which is a slap in the face.

Give Lamar 160mil guaranteed and 2 1st rd picks. Lets go win a SB please.

I'm not sure how much experience his mom has negotiating quarter billion dollar deals but I'm pretty confident that answer is zero. Ravens aren't being shady. This is business. You bring an amateur to a major contract negotiation and you are going to get taken advantage of every single day and 3 times on Sunday. Trying to save that 10% fee could end up costing him far more.

As far as SAS goes, you have 2 guys from the same network offering different versions of the story. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

Go get Lamar, don't get him. Doesn't matter what you decide as long as you have the ability to build a competitive team around him. If you don't have the assets to build that, there's no point trading for him. It will only hurt you in the long run.
