We will likely get a 3rd rounder for him after next season

It's important to remember that minority coaches have to be on a team's staff for two full seasons for the comp pick to be awarded. If we lose both Brown and Evero after one season then that likely means the team had a really good year though.

I wanted it too. My point is more directed at the people who went full blown overkill on it’s the end of the world and Tepper is the worst owner ever based on just his first HC hire ever. Cause it looks like he in fact did learn from his first mistake. But nobody was allowed to even suggest it without getting poo thrown at them from every corner of the huddle. It’s just silly how this place goes most of the time.

Tepper himself admitted what a lot of us suspected, that he came into the league thinking he was gonna do things differently, shake things up and prove that he was the smartest guy in the room.

He also confessed to having learned that there's a reason why some things are done the way they are.

I give him credit for that. Everyone should.

I, like everyone else i here, is thrilled with this hire.

i may be biased when is say this, i honestly don't remember ever having such a loaded coChing staff. From head coaching experience, to young up and comers.  This staff has been assembled for 1 reason.  To take over the division.

    • Yes, he's a tier above them, but you also touched on the money side of it.  With T-Mac locked in as our #1 on a rookie contract for a few more years, I'd much rather use that money that would be needed for DJ on our defense and develop Coker into our #2.   Especially given his contract situation as an UDFA, as his contract is up at the end of this year but we can keep him around for a 3rd team controlled year on the real cheap.  Which means we probably could get him to sign a very reasonable extension this offseason to give him a little more money while giving us a bargain contract for what he provides. DJ's contract is north of $20 million for the next 5 years, why pay that for your #2 WR with the needs we have on defense and you have guys like Coker, XL, and Horn on rookie contracts who very well could combine to be a serviceable 2-4 WRs behind a stud in T-mac? I love DJ and he'd be a great fit on this team as our #2, but the money side of it just makes absolutely zero sense, that's all it comes down to for me on this one. And no, I don't see the Bears wanting XL back in that trade, because they drafted Burden, who is essentially a better version of what XL provides, a player you want to get the ball into their hands and let them go to work.
    • I didnt see that many bad calls in the panthers cowboys game, but the chiefs especially in the playoffs were getting every single call they could get then the refs when it didnt matter would throw a call towards the other teams.  That I believe was the taylor swift effect.   But its crazy just thinking about how easy it is to change a game.  You dont need but a single ref to make a few close calls go towards one team over the other and in the nfl that is the game.
    • I don't think it's unrealistically blaming Bryce Young......to say has been a reason, sometimes a big one, in why our pass offense overall has been extremely week over the past 3 collective seasons.  I think that bothering anyone, is just being overly invested in some Bryce Young argument.  It's just a reality.
