The debate comes down to what is better: Big contract and grab a sure thing with Rodgers or Carr or give up draft picks and grab a young stud QB that will be on a smaller contract for years.

I have no idea what is a better option

sure thing carr or rodgers.  Da fug you talking about?

Once again; Fields dropped to where he did and the entire class last year dropped further than any media led us onto believe. Obviously this class is different but it’s been proven that media vs front offices do share different perspectives. What good does it do for Reich and Fitt to come out say we really trade everything for Stroud or anyone?

You are still taking a chance and hoping a QB will fall and if the FO believes that the QB they want will not fall to them. Then they trade up.
I would rather they be able to stay at 9 and get a QB but I have a feeling that the QBs are gonna go fast.

With Fitt's comments about now maybe being the time to go up and get their guy because they don't plan on picking in the top 10 anymore, the chances of a trade are extremely high. The only question is how high do they go and when do they make the trade.

He made a comment about deciding which way they want to go (draft or FA) in the weeks following the combine and leading up to FA, to give them a clearer picture of what they do in FA (bridge or starting QB). This suggests they could try and get the trade done in the next couple of weeks.

That was a 6 1st round QB draft and not as many QB hungry teams and a stronger crop of FA QB’s.. This isn’t the same thing or same situation..

Jmo.. You can’t trust that Seattle nor AtL won’t take QB’s (both in front of us).. The Raiders are confirmed opp’s (also in front of us) and now that Washington, Tampa or NO isn’t ready to trade everything to get infront of us.. Reality check Half the league has recognized they need a QB and this has become musical chairs.. Who ends of without a chair will be determined by aggression to get your guy..

And to be in reality..

Most of the media told you last years QB class wasn’t good and most if not all had the QB’s last year graded as 2nd and 3rd round talent at best..

YOU chose not to read between the lines and recognize the true feelings on last years QB class…

what GIF

Sure would have been nice to have traded Burns for those two firsts and second round picks now.

How does those worst division wins feel now? Should have tanked.

Season 2 What GIF by Friends

Just wait until next year. It's a better QB class.

Just take BPA at 9 and save the future picks.

Gasp Wow GIF

Did I miss anything?

Some of those things are true though?  If Burns was traded we would have plenty of ammo to move up and it not hurt nearly as much.  If we hadnt won pointless games we wouldnt have to try to to begin with.

Yes they are a sure thing. Whether they are worth the contract is the debate.

Sure of what??? Again..

1 of them makes you sure that you won’t be competing for Super Bowls and the other could retire and become a Game show host or Indiana Jones half way thru the season…

Neither of the top FA QB’s this year is a “sure thing” jmo..

If these QBs are as good as advertised.  It won’t matter.  Half the people would do anything to have one of the top 5 QBs in the NFL.  To have their “Josh Allen or Joe Burrow” here.

I believe these QBs are as good as advertised.

We got coaches comparing Players certain Player to Joe Burrow

We got national guys like Daniel Jeremiah saying Stroud had one of the best throwing sessions he’s seen at the combine

and for the “they get hype every year crowd”

Hardly anyone had Willis Top 30 prior to the Pro days.  Heck Daniel Jeremiah who is one of the more glued in guys.  The only QB he had too 25 was Pickett at 24.  He had his first big board come out Last Month.  And 4 QBs were in his top 13 overall prospects.

I know @Vergewho if you have been around here long enough , know that she’s good stuff and has her connection’s.  She has 3 QBs in this class graded higher than she had Fields coming out.  There are several other national guys who have echoed this.

additonal to add to these guys.

pretty cool thing linking the cognitive scores to success in the NFL

Purdy had the highest score in that category among the guys in his class and even higher than Trey Lance.

Mahomes, Allen, Bree’s, and the top guys also had top scores in this.
The QBs in this draft class are among the highest they’ve graded.

we need to trade up and get one of these guys. We’ve spent the last 4 years “building the roster” which is about 2 years longer than the avg NFL team before getting a QB.  We’ve spent high draft capital and hit on those picks at the biggest foundation pieces in this sport outside the QB.  It’s how we dam near won the division with Sam Darnold and PJ Walker at QB.  Even after the division got a head start on us until we fired that Moron of a HC.

We kicked ourselves for not trading up for a QB the other year from a school that traditionally fails at producing good QBs, a guy who didn’t win a Heisman, nor win a championship.   But we kicked ourselves a year later for missing on him despite when the draft was here.  No one wanted him.  And espy to trade up for him.

it’s time to trade up now.  If not we could really be setting ourselves up for some pain where you capped your ceiling.  Drafting the 20’s.  Not good enough to get over the top because a mid to bad QB.  And to far back to go get your QB.
