There has been a consistent.. tone lets say of not letting players call the shots. 

Reiterated in Reich’s response to players wanting artificial turf removed in his intro presser. “The players are important and we love them but leadership is driving the bus” (or something like that)

We couldn’t even tolerate Chosen Anderson’s ego - not sure how well Lamar would be received.

I actually don't hate that deal for them, opens up a LOT of doors, and they are kinda used to overpaying for QB play.

1 year expensive bridge deal it looks like...but very little dead money after it.  Setting the team up for the next 4/5 years I'm guessing.

Pro Football Network's Adam Beasley believes Geno Smith's new contract with the Seahawks makes QB Anthony Richardson an "ideal" first-round pick for Seattle. 

The Seahawks on Monday locked up Smith, 32, with a three-year extension after his stellar 2022 campaign, when he led the league in completion rate and threw 30 touchdowns to 11 interceptions. Beasley said short-term security at quarterback would make Seattle a leading candidate to take Richardson with the fifth pick of the 2023 NFL Draft. "That security at the most important position in pro sports allows the Seahawks to draft the guy they think will be the best quarterback in five years, not five months," Beasley said. "And given Richardson is both the most gifted and the rawest of this year’s class, the stage is set for the Seahawks to secure both their present and their future." Richardson told ESPN he had a good interview with the Seahawks at the NFL Combine, complimenting head coach Pete Carroll's energy. "We are totally connected to the quarterbacks that are coming out," Carroll said during the Combine. "This is a really huge opportunity for us. It’s a rare opportunity." How long Richardson would sit behind Smith is anyone's guess. Rotoworld's Patrick Daugherty and Denny Carter talked about Richardon's potential landing spots in a recent episode of the Rotoworld Football Show.

The structure will tell you everything. This could very well be a "bridge" deal.

 

 

It’s actually a good move, they probably plan on trading down with a team wanting a QB. They’ll use that capital (and it’s going to be a lot) and trade up next year in a loaded QB class.

      I actually put the money I cashed out on City to win outright. Arsenal just looks completely uninterested.  Which kind of ties into to what their manager has been saying, that they were going to focus on winning the EPL and be less worried about cups and tournaments.

      Gonna be interesting to watch. All reporting indicates he's gonna be out. From what I'm hearing he's out. The interesting part will be what happens next. The job has been staying within the "family" since Dean retired. But there's no one within the family that makes any sense at all right now. They'll have to go outside the family to hire a coach that's likely to be successful and tension between the school and the basketball family is already high right now with this plot to move the arena to Carolina North because the folks within the basketball family want it to stay at the Dean Dome and they feel misled because they feel like there was never any real consideration of revamping the Dean Dome and this whole evaluation process was just meant to make it look like that was being considered. The best outcome here IMO is that we hire a great coach from outside the family and we revamp the Dean Dome as an olive branch to the family. But the powers that be REALLY want a new arena at Carolina North.
