Confused Why Some Seem to Think We Got Fleeced

Because they listen to the pundits who are biased toward big market teams like Chicago.  This is a good trade for Chicago too IF Justin Fields develops into a true franchise QB and a competent passer  (jury's still out).  It'll also be interesting to see if  DJ Moore can prove to be the WR1 that Fields needs to do that.

For the Panthers, it's absolutely a great trade assuming that CJ Stroud or B. Young is our franchise QB for the next 10-15 years.  Simple as that and totally worth it.

I honestly thought we would have to give up two additional firsts and trading DJ instead is better because I'm not sure he has that value with his contract.

10-15 yrs? Lol...if we get 3 it will be a miracle.

I thought it was a very fair trade for both teams. So considering how many QB needy teams we needed to jump I thought we did very well

I think Moore is going to go off in Chicago. He is a much better deep threat than people realize due to our QB situation over the years. Moore and Fields will make for an exciting duo

At the end of the day, nothing matters in this league unless you have your QB. So this was a trade we had to make

Moore, Claypool, Moony and Kmet was looking decent. Fields has some weapons and I’m sure they are addressing the OL/DEF with FA and draft. Fields should take another step forward.

If I was Chicago I’d seriously be considering JSN at 9. Moore and JSN would be nice. Moore is really going to be benefit from Fields ability to extend plays/big arm and his own ability to win those 50/50 balls down field

I also think Terrace is going to benefit from playing with someone like CJ and his ability to place the ball just about wherever he wants

Best OL, or really any top defensive player are real options as well. They have so many holes on that roster. I would draft the top LT if I were them as they have to protect Fields.

DJ  Moore was OUR number 1 WR..   But I don't think he's top 32 WR.  We love him because he's ours.  There are many teams with 2 WR that are better than DJ .

DJ hasn't has a good QB or coaching . So he can get better. I never liked his ability to separate from defenders.  I LOVED his ability to get yards after the catch.

This can be a good trade for us. At least we are taking a swing. We're trying.  No guarantees that the QB we want will be a HOF or even good.  But we have been barely treading water for 5 yrs .

Tepper IS MAKING EFFORTS ..  Coaches and a NEW NUMBER ONE QB ..

Nothing is guaranteed.  BUT HE'S TRYING

That's not a lot to give up for the #1 pick. WRs are easier to get than QBs. We have messed around with the QB situation for years and it hasn't worked. Now we have OUR choice. Not whoever is left over. We control this draft.

I would have expected to give up more to get to #1 from #9.

It’s not so much the amount of compensation for me but more about is there a sure fire future pro bowl qb in this draft? Statistics would say this is still a risky move based on the batting average of top ten qb’s actually panning out. I’m not saying we shouldn’t do this but there is no Andrew Luck in this draft. Let’s just hope Stroud leads us to the promised land cause if he doesn’t we are fugged for a while.

That would make sense, but I don’t think they’re smart enough. Seems that reports surrounding it are corroborating that idea as well.

It’s a new staff. Rhule was running poo the last few years so you have have PTSD I think. It was announced Reich will have a CEO type role, he is a QB specialist and former QB, his QB coach loves Stroud. With all of this I doubt Fitt steps in and tries to pick another QB vs the one Reich wants.

It has been a long time since this franchise made a strategic step in the right direction, and I need proof they're capable of it before I can have even a smattering of faith. To me, the No. 1 pick seems obvious. But I have a reasonable concern they're gonna go against the grain to be cool, and fail miserably once again.

We didn’t get fleeced but it was a fair deal for both sides. Jumping from 9 to 1 is a large jump.

I think everyone agreed it would take 3 first, + a 2nd round pick. D.J has the value of a first round pick.

Packers offered us a 1st round pick last year for Moore per Jay Glazer.

I’m super happy we did what we had to, to end this madness of dreaming we can go somewhere without a QB. However Moore is being criminally under rated by some. I don’t know of any other WR putting up such numbers with inferior QB play. He’s also been very reliable in that I can’t remember him missing many games due to injuries either.

I hate we had to give him up, but still glad we made the deal.

I understand. Do you like the Reich hire? Also who do you think the top QB is? If this was Rhule I would probably be right there with you…

Really makes me wonder how stingy the market is this go round.

I think we had something that most weren't going to offer, which was a player like DJ Moore. It isn't like it would be dramatically cheaper in free agency to get improvements there. And there are no WR's worthy of #1.

It's a big need for the Bears.
