Yeah if they offered a 1st then someone thought he was worth it.
I always struggled to see elite in DJ. Not that I thought he sucked or wanted to bench him or trade him or that sort of thing, I guess when Smitty said “they finally replaced me” when they drafted DJ I expected to see more and it just stuck with me.

Same tbh

With apologies to Uncle Ben, “With great talent comes great responsibility.”

I don’t know if it’s been mentioned or not, but I can see why the Bears look so highly upon DJ.  With the numbers he has right now, if he’d gotten them all while playing for Chicago, he’d be their number 1 all-time receiving yards leader!  Their current leader (Johnny Morris ‘58-‘67) has 5059 to DJ’s 5201.

So yea, to them he is elite…..

Damn, we have more than I expected. They saving for an extension or wither signing?

Wouldn't be for an extension, as the only one that would make sense is Burns, and extending him would lower his cap hit this year anyways, not raise it.

Probably keeping it open for a WR trade if anything materializes, if not hold onto it to roll into next year when we already should have a lot of cap room and make a few splash signings.

Also worth noting that we'll need to have the most cap room set aside for rookies given us having the #1 pick now.

I am hoping he does well. Especially when they play other NFCS teams.

You are not wrong about Bears wide receivers. But I think they are excited most about this stat.

    • Great season regardless of what happens. From starting out 4-14 to ending 44-38 is incredible progress and future is bright from here. I do think we can beat the Heat and then win on the road against either Orlando or Philly assuming Embiid doesn’t miraculously return sooner. But if not, a higher draft pick is nice too
    • I know a DT that's asking for a trade: 🤔 maybe a home discount can be worked out. Dan Morgan could create up to $80 million in space through restructures of stars like Derrick Brown, Jaycee Horn, or Taylor Moton. They could also include players like Tershawn Wharton ($18.6M cap hit) in the trade to balance the salaries. Carolina Receives: DT  Dexter Lawrence II New York Receives: 2026 2nd Round Pick (No. 51 Overall): A premium Day 2 selection that fits the for  Lawrence  after his 0.5-sack season in 2025. WR  Xavier Legette : A young, high-upside receiver who provides the playmaking depth HC John Harbaugh needs for his offense. 2026 4th Round Pick: Immediate mid-round value. 2027 4th Round Pick (via MIN): Future capital acquired in the  Adam Thielen  trade.  ----- Stone Forsythe* (another young player as a potential trade option)provides immediate offensive line retooling for HC John Harbaugh.    John Harbaugh's history in Baltimore proves he values draft volume over individual superstars.    Just my 2cents
    • Moved to Tuesday, not Wednes because of scheduling with Flyers game or something in Philly. But I don't feel good about the Heat.  It has been a great season regardless.  Team just been playing so hard to move up since a bad start and just picked a bad time to get gassed.  It's like almost everyone is shooting cold at the same time even wide open shots.   Maybe atmosphere and playoffs kick off a spark.  I'd rather be in a series than a one and done though. The team has a good foundation to build on regardless of what happens.
