2 years, 5 million.  1 million dollar signing bonus.

good for PJ.  A Sam Darnold tier QB.

A Sam Darnold tier QB....wut?

Even as bad as Sam had been here (sans the 4-2 season where he looked decent for once), PJ still wasn't long for the NFL at the rate he was going.

I guess that's one (and maybe the only) thing Rhule did that was a positive in that he saved (or at the very least prolonged) PJ's career in the NFL whereas he would currently be starring in NFL Europe or something.

In all seriousness, as a human being, I wish him all the best in Chicago and whatever he does going forward.

lol.  Yes. PJ Walker and Sam Darnold are the same tier QB right now.

and if you doubt that….go look at the deals both just signed.  That’s the tier they are in.  The market and the NFL sets the tier.  Folks still hanging on to the status of how folks entered the league.  Irrelevant at this point.

Not long for the NFL? Yeah, again, same tier QB.  Sam on his 3rd team.   Was worse on his second than first team.  Only can get a one year deal to be probably the 3rd string QB.

same tier QB.  Reality just backed that up.  There is nothing that backs Sam being in a different tier.  League just drove that fact home.

I wasn't talking about Tier's as far as "backup contracts" go.      But you do you, buddy.

PJ is not an NFL QB.    He only plays one on TV.

And now he'll play one in Chicago!  Yay.

(i'm sure his biggest fan is creating an account on their message board as we speak)

You were the one that felt the need to protest that I called them the same tier QB.   Who knows what you intended with your protest.  League sees them as the same caliber QB at this point.

While I have tried to forget a lot of the season, it’s hard to think of many good passing plays that were not PJ involved.

I forget...was that the TD that ended up with that stupid penalty called by the Refs for removing his helmet?

    • After last season, it was the same question. And the answer most people came to was "If he doesn't make the playoffs, he's gone." He made the playoffs. No matter how it was done, we made it to the playoffs. He's safe. He's going to have a chance to keep working this out, even if next season isn't a playoff one.  I think we'll do better next year than we did this season. There's something being built here.
    • The NBA is a very fickle league. Kon is one of the hottest rookies in years and beyond just his play on the court he is a very steady competitor and that translates to the rest of the team. That has been a glaring absence with the culture of this franchise through the bulk of the LaMelo Ball years that's just being completely blunt and realistic. The enigma of LaMelo Ball is he is entering year 6 and still either red hot or ice cold. We need him to find that sweet spot. Logic dictates the Hornets will want to see this core again next year. But the clock is beyond ticking at this point. It's put up or shut up. Especially considering what the Thunder managed to do recently. I'm hopeful they can keep these wins rolling in and get some much needed playoff experience under their belts which will help substantially.
    • I think as long as the Panthers are competitive with Canales they should keep him. Pepper needs to repair his/the teams image as a place prized free agents aren't hesitant to consider. Just dont do any crazy poo for a few years.
