Natalie Miller (aka Verge): per her sources, Panthers moved up to #1 to take Bryce Young

The interest in Bryce Young is definitely legit although I wouldn’t say anything is set in stone. Especially with QB visits left to play out.

From my understanding the trade to 1 was with both Stroud and Young in mind and proponents for each in the building. From the sounds of things the pendulum is moving towards Bryce.

At this point the expectation is the Panthers will make the first pick in the draft so while not everything out there is legit, everything also isn’t all a smokescreen…

As mentioned above, nothing is definitive and likely won’t be until next week after visits conclude

This would be COMPLETEly & FRANKly devastating news to a few on here. lol

If Tepper likes Bryce that’s where my money is. I can see where there may be legitimate differing opinions from different members of the coaching staff about who the pick should be. If I paid 2.275 billion for this team and had to live with the results of this pick I would listen to the coaching staff, but the final decision would be mine as owner. This pick more than any other since Tepper has been here will define his legacy as an owner. You can believe “it will be the coaching  staffs decision” if you wish. I don’t think so.

I'm not gonna lie to you though. The fact some longtime former Darnold homers reaaaaaaaaaaaaally want Bryce Young does give me pause. Hoping for the best.

It’s tough because the Young fanboys are cut from the same cloth as the Darnold ones, but @rippadonnis spamming for Stroud which is also a red flag…

And I guess you can't fire yourself, so that's a bonus too.

Cam was fairly raw when he came out, and most people do not realize that he was below 60% completions for his career.  At Auburn in 2010 Cam was at 66%--so his accuracy dropped--(pro system vs. spread)

Truth be told, if Ginn caught all he dropped it would have helped Cam’s completion rate considerably.

    • I don't really care as much about athleticism and arm strength.  While Murray might be better in that regard, I think Bryce has enough of both to do well in the NFL. The main reason this trade reference is silly is the money and the fact that Murray has been around a long while and hasn't proven that he can perform consistently when the game is on the line.  Bryce has shown that he can play well in the clutch (in the few opportunities he has had).
    • If Bryce can continue the level of play he showed after the benching, then there's a good shot we at least compete to win the division. Tampa is a solid team but even last year in our week division they went 10-7 and will be on their 4th OC in as many years. The Saints are a mess and are in a mist of a half rebuild half still trying to compete mode and will probably be starting a rookie QB. The Falcons are a wild card as they have a really good offense but are we really crowning Michael Penix as a franchise QB after just 3 games?  The only thing I want out of this season is for Bryce to come out and without a shadow of a doubt prove he's our franchise QB. If that happens then most of the fanbase would be happy and I believe we'd be in a good place record wise at the end of the season. Maybe falling just short of winning the division with a chance to sneak in as a wild card team.
