What do people think about Bryce Young’s size compared to Steve Smith?

Steve just had that dawg in him lol.

hard to compare though, receivers usually getting hit by CBs and get to see it more and run into them as much as getting run into. QBs usually get hit by 250+ pound men going full speed while standing still.

Dear football gods, please let the Panthers pick the right one. We already were 1 pick from Herbert and you teased us with only 7 truly healthy seasons of Cam, so give us a fuging break for once. It would be nice to look back with my youngest (born here, big fan) in a decade and go hot damn we pulled the Manning over the Leaf.

Does CJ get a pass for his struggles throwing left yesterday? Neither guy was perfect but they both showed everything they needed to and they both looked great.

It comes down to which ones are more fixable. Ill take the one that struggles on the left. Minor correction fixes that. Long passes only get harder in the NFL. I wouldnt mind neither but Stroud is just better with his ball placement.

There’s no comparison. There are a bunch of HOF WRs on the “small” size. Young is on the small side of even the smaller QBs. I don’t know if he will have an issue or not, just that Smith’s size is so not relevant and might be the perfect example of apples to oranges.

Recap?

Pretty low key Pro Day, enjoyed how Bryce managed the calls and his receivers the whole day.

Basically perfect Mid and Short range

Didnt connect with Burton on 2-3 deep balls but 2 should have been caught and the third was a really nice ball imo.

Hit the net on the roof on what would have been the most interesting throw of the day.

Thought he had nice velocity on most his throws and the did a lot to simulate defenders in his face, I really enjoyed a number of beautiful throws he made about 15-20 yards deep toward the sideline.

Definitely no real fireworks and the deep balls will be debated (thought they showed what they needed to) but overall it was a low key businessman like affair.

Did some under center stuff, PA stuff, Shotgun, etc, felt like a checklist.

Those deep passes were decent though, confusing why we’d hammer a guy for throwing catchable deep balls and not a guy who was missing passes within ten yards.

Note neither were bad, just feels like people are watching these with their biases already in place.

No one is going to clown the Panthers for drafting Young

He’s been the consensus QB1 for 2 years now. Everyone and their dog thinks he’s special their only concern is his size.

It’s a lot easier to defend picking Bryce and having that blow up in your face than passing on Bryce and having that blow up in your face imo

    • Dude, I think I might be having Jarvy withdrawals... I ripped the sleeves off of all of my t-shirts in my sleep last night. Every bite of my Alpha-Bita cereal spelled Seth, this morning. And, I took 7 naps before lunch. I'm losing it guys! Jarvy's Jaunty Band of Jaggoffs are getting more play than he is... smh Team Canada doesn't treasure Jarvis the way he deserves. He should take his band down to Liechtenstein, get a bag of passports, and start his own Olympic team! The raw animal magnetism of Jarvilicious will bring in a handful of NHLers on its own. And, since the IOC believes in collective punishment, he could have his pick of the rookies. Then, just fill out the rest of the roster with the maple blooded great white northerners who couldn't make the top squad. Can't trust this assembled awesomery to just any old Liechtensteinien with a clipboard and a whistle. Gotta bring in a legend worthy of this gold medal gambit. A hockey HOFer with the balls to buck the system and the aura to match our maverick. Huere geil, Vaduz!!! 2030 Gold Medal guaranteed!
    • Tennessee isn't trading a QB on a 2nd round contract that has starting experience.  That's bad business.
    • OT is the top priority as it is both an immediate and future need.  I wouldn't be past trading up slightly to get the guy we want.  You need that rookie contract right now.  Icky is a dead 17.5 million for the season.  Morton is 20+ mil for the season, Hunt is 20+ mil for the season.  There needs to be forward thinking regarding the future.   Caleb Lomu is a left Tackle, he's a solid prospect, he may be the best pick for us now and in the future.  I would seriously consider cutting Hunt after 2026, and let Lomu and Icky fight for the LT job, loser moves inside.  Icky's future may be at guard after this injury anyway.  If Damien Lewis keeps up his level of play he will need to be paid sooner rather than later.  Yosh and BC can be our top two depth OL at an affordable price.  You will need to look at OT again in 2027. Getting an EDGE for the sake of getting an EDGE outside of the top 10 is pretty risky.  I wouldn't be against eyeing someone like Cashius Howell, Derrick Moore, or TJ Parker in the 2nd (even if we trade a future pick to move up) or DDS in the third. I'd love to see us try to sign both Leo Chenal and Matt Millano in FA.   Chenal for the blitzing element we are missing from our LB corps and Millano for his elite coverage.  They could both work in tandem.  Remember, our FO has deep ties to both KC and Buffalo. I love thinking about the draft, but until Free Agency hits, we are clueless.  Looking at the strength of FA and the draft, OL is priority #1, LB #2, and EDGE #3.  We know what happens to Bryce when protection falls apart.
