Todd McShay 2 round mock

No chance we take a Guard with our 2nd rounder, we'll take someone who could/should be at minimum a regular player in rotation if not an outright starter somewhere.

A guard, if all things go to plan this year, wouldn't see a single snap in their rookie year.

Even in that article, McShay says it could be either Young or Stroud 🤔

He states that afterwards, but his source that is "never wrong" said Young is their guy.  HE thinks it is between Young and Stroud, but his source said it's Young and he claims that source is "never wrong."

Don't overthink this draft the best available WR or TE with pick #39.

Love Chark and Thilen but they are no game changers, both are solid at their job. We still need another WR in this rotation.

Downs at 39 is my preference

We signed McCray as well.  However BC and Mays could be excellent depth at multiple positions (including LT for BC) plus Icky and Torrence could be a great combo on the left side (assuming that is where he plays).

Played RG his final 3 years. Interesting fact, 4 year starter that never gave up a sack in his entire career. I still think that G is a luxury pick at 39.

He might end up being right, but the word from the Panthers about that decision not being made yet is very believable.

He might end up being right in the same way that you might end up being right if you call "heads" on a coin flip.

Torrence, huh? Interesting.....

possible.  Remember we just hired our first offensive minded coach, and he's already stated we have a good defense, and he wants a good offense.  He's gonna get a QB at one, and he may be thinking we need to protect him, and he's right.

If there are no WRs left, and with two of our IOL recovering from serious injures, he might choose to solidify the line. Worked for the Saints with Brees...you get your QB, you protect him.  Saints spent an incredible amount of draft capitol plus big contracts to protect their QB.

I'd love a CB or edge, but understand if it's OL.  A prior poster suggested that a guard wouldn't play a snap his rookie year.  We started Icky last year as a rookie....he was a top 10 pick but he also played a much harder position at LT.  We wouldn't even play Gross at LT his rookie season, instead playing him at RT or guard, can't remember.

We'll all have to adjust our thinking to an offensive minded coach.

    • The next time a contrarian barrels in here trying to tell other people to be nice to the Tepper's just show them this.
    • I'd say or believe the RB room has or will improve. Rico > inches. Then 3rd RB is 4th rounder Trevor Etienne, who we don't know what he bring, should be more than last year and I heard he's got good hands.  All the TEs are young, even back issue Tremble is 24. Evans is a worker and Sanders has been getting props on his body. Sighlt edge points up here too, imo. OL everyone but Motown should be better too, they are mostly OL "young" and that was the first season with the OL coaches. Did you know they have a personal coach for C, IOL, and OTs?? They got three OL coaches on this staff, I don't believe any other team has this method.  You know about the talent added to WR room.  It does come down to BY. If I say BY wins the MVP award, how would that look team-wise??
    • The sad part is Panthers SM team was once in tune and godlike with the SM handling.... The only team I can think of that could pull this " leave your mark " is the chiefs. They are in the middle of a dynasty run and win 12 games on a bad year....... terrible move by Panthers. I mean even during the 7-9 years I was able and ready to talk trash with all other teams fan base...... 5-12s, 2-15, 6 new HCs, poor drafting...... I have been locked in a library and my best line is " no comment "..... God dam its been a rough 6 years and now the Panthers gave other teams this "leave your mark" ammo..... They better God dam win.
