Sure, he was at Bama so they weren't dog crap, but let's not kid ourselves that Stroud didn't have the better supporting cast this past year, both at receiver and on the line. Recruiting rankings don't mean much if they aren't playing up to potential on the field.

And Young's stats dropped off considerably when his WRs left - if we're playing that game (Stroud's didn't).

Aren't your whole shtick, trust the professionals (Panthers scouts, front office and the coaches). Don't need any tape for that 🤣😂

Still need it to form my own opinion 😄

My thing with the pros is that they're always going to be smarter than us. That's not their job though. Their job is to be smarter than their competitors.

Hell, Marty Hurney was a professional. He just wasn't very good compared to other professionals.

I'm just messing with you. 🤭

... Because Stroud was still throwing to better receivers? This past season he was throwing to Marvin Harrison Jr, the guy who would be the consensus #1 receiver if he were eligible this year and JSN, a first round player coming out this season. Last year he had Olave and Wilson, both first round receivers. Young had Williams last season and not much this year.

Young was carrying his team this year, whereas OSU was just a better all around team. Yes Young's numbers took a hit in terms of volume stats, but his y/a, ay/a, and QB rating are pretty much identical. He was just as efficient with a worse team surrounding him.

You can be a fan of Stroud over Young, but even the staunchest of Stroud supporters even admit Stroud had a better supporting cast. The argument that Young's receivers made him just seems completely disingenuous based on everything.

JSN was out with a hamstring this year.  He had 5 total catches for the season.

I'm ok with Bryce being his favorite but we need better reasons. Alot of development happened past the Summer of 2022 an will continue to happen. Making that assessment off a glorified summer pro-day is an incomplete assessment. I think that one of the things that people aren't thinking about regarding CJ is that they think he can't get better. As if he has reached his ceiling.

Coaches believe they can develop Will Levis and Anthony Richardson... but for some reason its like CJ has peaked. None of these guys is a perfect prospect. For the all of the things that Bryce Young does well, there are ill-advised throws and inconsistent arm strength on the deep ball.

I believe all of these guys can get better. I think Bryce can get heavier on an NFL nutrition plan... but he wont get much taller. That can't be developed. I dont think Bryce's size is going to impact him as much as others may think because he's played in the SEC but its definitely apart of his evaluation.

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
