If that were the case. The Bengals would’ve traded down for Tua and taken all the extra picks on top at the time

if that were the case, Indy would’ve called to move down for RG3 and some picks at the time.

Just because you “like” multiple guys.  Doesn’t mean you Love them equally.

Both those franchises announced who they wanted pretty early and stated the pick wasn't for sale.  We said the opposite.  We wanted to trade up to 3, but the price was similar so we went up to 1?  We still haven't officially picked a guy and like multiple prospects.  2 VERY different situations.

If they "love" him then why sit back and take a gamble?  Especially when most the arrows are pointing to Young going 1 now?

The draft isn't here yet and most trades get done at the draft. Let's see what happens as the draft gets close and we say definitely we are going with Young.

They have two firsts this year.  If they think Young is a franchise QB and Stroud isn't worth taking at 2???  Who knows??

Is Houston that desperate?  At that point I'd take Anderson or trade down if I was Houston.

Betting lines honestly don't mean sh-t to me. Betting lines have had our last two coaching hires being Jim Harbaugh or Sean Payton.

I do take the beat reporters and the insiders seriously, but what they ultimately have is still just educated guessing.

More educated than us, but still guessing.

When they’re all lining up.  And all the National media are lining up from what they’re hearing from their “sources”

Even Matt Miller who was the last one saying he’s hearing Stroud has already changed tune and says he’s hearing different now.

id trust all of that with the massive change in Vegas line over some Joe Schmo fan boy on a message board or Twitter trying to stir up a conspiracy theory why all the reporting is wrong but they’re right.

Just the opposite. They want Young and hope we love Stroud. I wonder if some of the young love is an attempt to get Houston to move up to take him for fear we are going to take him as well.

I certainly wouldn't mind trying to fleece them.  Truthfully if I were in the Panthers organization, I wouldn't even fool with this strategy unless I could get the Texans' 12th pick in a trade back.

So they make their roster better and make it more difficult to get a top guy next year.  I'm just saying if they truly think Young is the guy and are only one pick away from him, a phone call will/should be made.

I wouldn't do it for a 2nd.  It will take a 1.

The vast majority of beat writers, analysts and gambling sites got the #1 pick wrong last year.

And it's not the first time.

Yeah and the compensation would be entirely up to our staff and how much more they like one prospect vs the other.  Look at what we gave up to acquire a QB in this draft, who is to say Houston wouldn't do something similar for less?  Now if Houston is also high on Stroud then nothing will/should happen.  Just sit back and take whoever we don't which I think is their strategy.

When it’s a QB at the top

they rarely been wrong.

and actually Vegas got that one right last year.  Even moreso, it mirrored what’s going on now.  It was always Hutchinson, the whole way through.  Everyone was hearing Hutchinson.

then with about 2 weeks left.  There was  a change in Buzz for Walker and Vegas took a 180.
like what’s happening now.

    • Bryce Young has recorded 4 game-winning drives through nine weeks, leading the Carolina Panthers to crucial victories in tight contests. The 12-play, 58-yard clock-killer versus the Packers in Week 9 (16-13 upset). This pace positions him as the team's most clutch performer in years, with a 68.4% success rate on go-ahead drivesalready surpassing many franchise benchmarks early in his career.   Young's early 2025 surge (top-5 league-wide in clutch EPA at 0.28 per dropback) not only outstrips the debuts of Newton (2 in 2011) and Delhomme (1 in 2003) but hints at him climbing this list quickly if the Panthers sustain their wildcard hunt. Data underscores his growth: no other Panther QB hit 4 GWDs before Week 10 in a season.   The energy fans pour into the stadium directly shapes Bryce Young’s performance positive support has been shown to elevate his fourth-quarter efficiency by 12%, strengthening team cohesion and execution under pressure. Criticizing or booing the starting quarterback fractures morale, disrupts focus, and undermines the very resilience needed in clutch moments. When fans stand firmly behind their QB and team, they become a true home-field advantage, amplifying performance and accelerating the path to sustained success. Now are you a Carolina Panther fan or a Panther hater?
    • Bryce would have extended some plays scrambling with his legs but then again he also has a high number of fumbles so you never know what you're going to get and the way the Bills were getting after Andy (sacked 7 times) it stands to reason Bryce would have been under duress often. What exactly do you want here? I mean I'm going to go by the gameplan I saw after Bryce turned the ball over against GB. Clearly Dave Canales was deliberately trying to limit the opportunities for him to make a catastrophic mistake. And didn't Micah Parsons log zero QB pressures? So with that in mind if you are asking for anyone to argue our offense with Bryce would have had much if any success against that opportunistic motivated Bills defense while we were also splitting carries between Rico and Chuba who had the majority of them which ended up being a situation resulting in a weeks worth of scathing criticism and deservedly so then I'm going to just have to say we can agree to disagree.
