The more posts about BY coming here the more the MAGAs will come out with their pitchforks lol history repeats itself and 2011 was a hell of a time to not waiver on your confidence in Cam with all the naysayers trying to find any angle to shoot him down.

Oh man the nonsense in this post is unreal. The funny thing is the talk of CJ Stroud basically being a dumb dumb is coming from a lot of the loudest pro Bryce Young folks. So if you want to talk about undertones and 2011 you might want to look around champ.

Thats a dumb take.  Everyone wants one of the big 3 qbs..

That's really not the point. The point is the perceived value of the player versus the opportunity costs. Sure, a team will pull the trigger when/if they deem it's worth it. But if they deem another player is more valuable, they'll pass QBs off to someone else.

I haven't seen anyone call Stroud stupid. And if they do, they have no idea what the S2. It has nothing to do with intelligence. Regardless, I think Stroud is fantastic and will be a good player.

Not directly but the lack of his s2 score being leaked and this new slander of him being uncoachable after weeks of people questioning his football IQ is definitely reminiscent of some of the foolishness leveled against Cam Newton. Some things don't change. I wish him and AR well even if they aren't our pick. They both seem like good kids. I say the same about Young all size talk aside. There's nothing I've seen from any of the three that concerns me about them as human beings.

I 100% agree, it's disturbing and wrong to do that to the kid. That is the media though, and they always pick someone to slander. Heck look at Levis, he is pinned as enemy number 1 because he did a tick tock for laughs about drinking mayo in his coffee and the banana thing.

My point was though, I haven't seen many Panthers fans saying those things about Stroud, at least no on this forum.

Levis is the biggest boom or bust of all. He seems like an alright guy but the lack of situational awareness on this stage in what is the biggest moment of your life that many people never get is just bizarre to witness. I think he'll either do well in an NFL locker room or things will get ugly. Not much room in between. Add in the Darnold comparison and... ehhhh.

The sports medias infatuation with Levis and a few innocent pranks has been annoying since it started last year. These people will gloss over crime before a prank that affects absolutely nobody.

    • Hello, soccer fans [crickets, tumbleweed flies by]. The World Cup kicks off in less than 2 weeks and, well, 🇺🇸USA USA USA🇺🇸 and all. We beat Senegal 3-2 yesterday in a tune-up friendly at BoA, with Christian Pulisic finally entering the scoring column.  How will we do in the World Cup once our tournament kicks off on the 12th? Well, there are 48 teams (assuming Iran is there) and it feels like one of two thing happens: we get grouped for the first time since '98, or we make it to the Round of 16 for the third time in the last four World Cups. I tried out the lottery for an Atlanta game and struck out, so yesterday was as World Cup as I'll get for in-person ($285/ticket for like Norway vs $39/ticket for USMNT right beforehand was a layup).  The U.S. has a travel-heavy schedule in group play, playing in LA, Seattle and LA. Real road warrior mentality being built. Glad the east coast gets worse kickoff times for a NA World Cup than a Qatar World Cup.
    • Well, that's the thing. Drafting players only for their physical measurables as you are suggesting only really happened during 2024, and X unfortunately has become the poster child for that. To be clear, it's not necessarily about drafting RAS over skill, but RAS over NFL-readiness and/or a solid body of work. Lots of players show skill in college, but those skills don't necessarily translate to the NFL for a multitude of reasons. But, getting back to the main point, to be clear, I believe that our FO is still enamored with physical gifts (who wouldn't be?), but now they're letting Dr. Eric Eager's proprietary system--his "secret sauce" prioritize the players that the Panthers draft, and it seems like it weighs not only a solid body of work, relative to a college career of course, but consistent gradual improvement as evidenced by production pretty highly.
