Meanwhile Stroud has been setting up and taking more visits

We'll see how far he tumbles.  If Texans pass at 2, he could go down to 4 or 6.    If the Texans trade out, which rumor is they a looking, there's hope Stroud could still be picked at 2.

Could be rolling with Davis Mills and playing for the top pick next year. 4 QBs in the top 10 not looking likely.

He could fall to 4 or someone will trade up to 2-3 for him.

Depends on why Houston passed on him. Even the biggest Stroud fans have to admit that isn’t a good look if a team decides it would rather tank 1 more year than take CJ.

"

The general consensus has Young landing in Carolina as well.

ESPN's David Newton reported last Thursday that "multiple executive sources believe Young simply is the better player." Matt Miller of ESPN echoed that account when he said "every source polled this week" thought the 2021 Heisman Trophy winner edged in front of Stroud.

Two days earlier, ESPN's Adam Schefter said on NFL Live the Panthers traded up to No. 1 pick with the idea of not only selecting a quarterback but also with Young as their preferred target. Carolina wasn't dead set on him, but he was the team's early favorite.

Schefter doubled down Wednesday when he said meeting with the Texans would be a "waste of time" for Young because the Panthers have basically made up their minds.

    • The panthers are such a trash organization at this point that all the huddle can do is argue about which panthers team is historically the worst…good times.
    • Well, hope they're not worried about a torn Labrum or Rotator Cuff, as someone who went through that myself, I know those don't have anything show up on X-Rays but from the MRI, so this is kinda a nothing update, hope it's not a tear or his season is already over if they decide to do surgery now. Which is basically what would be needed to get him to 100% for the start of next season's training camp if it's a labrum.  If he plays the season with it and then does surgery, he's not going to be ready for camp and probably not the start of the season either.
    • I always try to not pay much attention to a team’s preseason win/loss record. The 1982 Washington and 2021 LA Rams both lost every game in the preseason and went on to win the Super Bowl, whereas the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2017 Cleveland Browns both won every game in reason and went on to lose every regular season game. There’s many examples of teams that lose in preseason that go on to have good seasons, but equally there are teams that lose in preseason and that continues in the regular season. Which will we be?  I think our floor is a handful of wins, while our ceiling will probably be around the 9-10 win mark. The latter will require significant improvement from the whole team and coaching staff, and will also need Bryce to play like the QB we drafted him to be. I want to be optimistic and predict a winning season, but it’s really difficult as a Panthers fan!
