Predictions:

1. QB (Young)

37-45. LB/Edge.  Hopefully a small trade back and pick up an extra 5th (GB and NE are options). Ojulari, Sanders, McDonald, Campbell (if they believe Luvu can move outside), Herbig, Hall, etc.

93. CB.  Preferences are Brents, Mitchell, Rush.  May have to move up a little here.

114. G Zavala, Wypler, etc.

116-117. DL if we trade back in second. Harrison, Carter, Young could all be there.

132. RB (Evans, Miller)

145. WR/TE

As you can see from this photo taken at my last physical, I am more than qualified to modify my answer if the only prerequisite is "having a pair."  In fact, I think I may have been the inspiration for a South Park episode, but I digress.

Now that I have provided my qualifications, I would like to offer a revised opinion:

1. Young

39.  Trade back:  DJ Turner, CB, Michigan (reason?  As much as I want an edge here, Jackson may not be slightly above average after the Achilles injury.  Henderson and Taylor have been toasted a lot.  Horn is solid, and needs to be on the #1 WR, not playing nickel.  Turner makes us better immediately-he starts off by playing the nickel and next season, when Jax moves on, becomes the #2 CB.)

93.  Matt Bergeron, OT, Syracuse (Reason?  Bergeron can play swing T and allow for Mays and Christensen and McCray to compete for the LG position.   Bergeron would be an ideal replacement for Moton when he becomes too expensive to keep in a year or two.  The OL needs depth, and I feel that we will address the OL in this draft after drafting a small QB.)

114.  Nick Hampton, OLB/Edge, Tweetsie U (Reason?  Hampton is a special pass rusher--just kinda sucks vs. the run.  We need a pass rushing edge on passing downs opposite Burns.  Imagine moving Brown to NT and YGM (for example) to DE?)

145. Luke Schoonmaker, TE, Michigan (reason?  Solid #2 TE that fills a need)

168.  (For trade from 39 to about 45 in round 2):  Anthony Bradford, G/T, LSU.  (Reason?  We need depth on the OL and he can play 4 positions.  By trade, a RG to give depth behind Corbett and perhaps his future replacement.)

Not bad. I could be all aboard with that draft.

White is easier to get dirty. If you plan on eating/drinking in a white jersey you better be extra careful. I stained a lot of white jerseys in my life.

Considering wings are a popular food during games I will stay clear of white.  Blue or black for me.

Have been doing some hard digging and re-evals of what I'll call the "big 5 classes" needs wise - WR, TE, RB, EDGE, & CB.  Gotta say, I've got some new favorites in each (after the obvious top few):

WR:

Marvin Mims - Blazer, hands-catcher, aggressive with ball-in-hand, strong route runner.  Coming from Oklahoma, just needs to acclimate to NFL zone concepts.  Teams are VERY high on him.  Totally under the radar and a perfect fit.  Can play inside and outside.  Punt returner.  He's my top fitting WR to compliment the group.  EXCELLENT kid, really high character, super well-spoken and sharp.

TE:

Tucker Kraft - This guy is a nightmare for any non-ILB once he catches the ball.  He's an agile freight train of a man.  Reich has had strong TEs on his squads, I think we need one to take over in the next year or so w Hurst tutelage.

RB:

Kendre Miller - A well-rounded, hard running, workhorse that would be a really nice blend with Sanders.

EDGE:

Derick Hall - 6'3 255 kid with great length, bend and burst. That's all you can ask for a 3-4 EDGE with his type of upside.  Another high-character, great teammate type per league sources.

CB:

Darius Rush - Another big, long physical type who can play in the Fangio style coverages.  Would be great to reunite him with Jaycee.

    • OK, fair enough--however, since my point was that drafting a QB in the top 10 is stupid, if you consider the players who were not drafted in the top 10 or those who WERE drafted in the top 10 and did not secure starting positions with the team that drafted them, you should see the point.  Is it smart to draft a QB in the top 10 when only 4 are still starting for the team that drafted them.  Next, consider that half of that number, 2, were drafted outside the first round.  Next, there are 4 (Goff, Mayfield, Jones, and Darnold) who are starting on other teams after busting.   That number could increase as Arizona seems ready to move on from Murray, Miami is not sold on Tua, and jacksonville is still waiting for Trevor to start looking elite.  Bryce?   So to answer your question, there are MANY more QBs in the NFL who have busted and become starters on other rosters, were drafted after day 1, or are still on the cusp than the four who have become elite.  I thought that point was made.
    • I’m more upset that we are changing uniforms in the middle of this road win streak. We have won our last 3 road games in Silver Helmets, White Jerseys, and Blue Pants. We are supposedly wearing Black Helmets, White Jerseys, Black Pants this week… I am a superstitious person
    • He did so well they are moving him to RB, Legette to QB, and Moton to TE…. Interesting. Coker might struggle at LT https://www.panthers.com/news/panthers-release-depth-chart-ahead-of-week-12-for-the-2025-season
