Yeah, in regard to the latter, you *must* get pressure on the QB to win in the NFL, and if you've only got one guy that can be doubled/schemed out of the game, you're just putting unreasonable pressure on coverage, and the way the game has changed, you're going to be in trouble - winning shootouts in best case scenarios.

Don't let Mr. Scot or PanthersGOAT see this. I've never seen such hilarious denial and I don't even care who they pick.

Yeah, sure 😆

I've said already I think it's Young and I'm okay with it, but it's also wise to keep all things in context.

For example, if you listen to the podcast you'll hear the above quote was in response to a direct question about Young. It's not like Fitterer just said that offhand.

Always check the context. Twitter quotes don't necessarily tell you everything.

That should stop anyone that still didn't think it was Young.

And with QB locked up, edge rusher is by far our biggest need going into the draft. I know I've heard Leonard Floyd free agency rumors but not at all surprising to see a heavy emphasis on that position as well.

I think Floyd, Ngakoue, Clowney are fallback options after draft weekend if we aren’t able to draft the EDGE we want in the draft

Just listened. I don’t think Scott mentioned CJ once. As if we need more confirmation, but if CJ was the pick you’d think he’d at least redirect some of those Bryce questions to talk about CJ.

He didn't talk about Richardson either...until he was asked about him.

It's a smart move if you're being cagey to not bring up anyone's name unless you're asked.

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
