We take Bryce, Stroud goes to Indy at 4, AR to Seahawks at 5 and then I think the Pats are gonna trade up with the Raiders by giving away Mac Jones + more and then take Levis at 7.

Doesn't really make sense for the Raiders. Signed Jimmy G, no reason to have Mac as a backup. Drafting a rookie to sit behind Jimmy makes more sense if they want to add a QB. I could see LV actually moving up or sitting pat for a QB.

As far as Hooker, I wouldn't take him in round one. Offensive system seemed very college-flukey and he is going to be 26 in the fall.

Mac is a guy McDaniels has already had success with and he could use a bit of a reset and some further development sitting behind Jimmy G for a year or 2 and a good insurance option for when (not if) Jimmy G gets hurt. He's not much older than Levis and is younger than Hooker. Plus there have already been reports that the Raiders could be interested in Mac. They'd get draft picks too.

Just a prediction, probably won't happen but it wouldn't surprise me at all.

All fair points. I'll come back and pie for sure if it hits!

I posted this in another thread. The Patriots seem to always see what they like and go for that particular player.

    • Yes, he's a tier above them, but you also touched on the money side of it.  With T-Mac locked in as our #1 on a rookie contract for a few more years, I'd much rather use that money that would be needed for DJ on our defense and develop Coker into our #2.   Especially given his contract situation as an UDFA, as his contract is up at the end of this year but we can keep him around for a 3rd team controlled year on the real cheap.  Which means we probably could get him to sign a very reasonable extension this offseason to give him a little more money while giving us a bargain contract for what he provides. DJ's contract is north of $20 million for the next 5 years, why pay that for your #2 WR with the needs we have on defense and you have guys like Coker, XL, and Horn on rookie contracts who very well could combine to be a serviceable 2-4 WRs behind a stud in T-mac? I love DJ and he'd be a great fit on this team as our #2, but the money side of it just makes absolutely zero sense, that's all it comes down to for me on this one. And no, I don't see the Bears wanting XL back in that trade, because they drafted Burden, who is essentially a better version of what XL provides, a player you want to get the ball into their hands and let them go to work.
    • I didnt see that many bad calls in the panthers cowboys game, but the chiefs especially in the playoffs were getting every single call they could get then the refs when it didnt matter would throw a call towards the other teams.  That I believe was the taylor swift effect.   But its crazy just thinking about how easy it is to change a game.  You dont need but a single ref to make a few close calls go towards one team over the other and in the nfl that is the game.
    • I don't think it's unrealistically blaming Bryce Young......to say has been a reason, sometimes a big one, in why our pass offense overall has been extremely week over the past 3 collective seasons.  I think that bothering anyone, is just being overly invested in some Bryce Young argument.  It's just a reality.
