I think Ohio State had a better offensive line up. Alabama had a much better defense, nobody is questioning that. Everyone is questioning that Young was surrounded by scrubs and no names.

Which teams that Alabama played this year had a better roster than Alabama outside of Georgia? Would love for you to answer that question.

They just signed Baker to start over Trask just like he did over Corral. Baker starting over your guys is a bad look. Also Corral can’t stay healthy. You are concerned about Young’s durability while Corral was injured in college and couldn’t make it through the preseason last year.

Baker will be limping off to the sidelines soon enough. Or sucking, just like he did here after YOU and the Baker Boys filled up the huddle with the same foolish hopium you pump into BY.

Both not elite. Good eye.

I'll be honest. I keep watching play after play of both Stroud and Young from one game after another. Really in hopes that I'll fall in love with Young's style.

He's very elusive. I like that. Despite his size, I'm not too worried about his durability. He can turn an ugly play into a brilliant one. Great poise.

But when I watch Stroud I see a QB that just makes it "look easy". He's also clearly poised. Smooth, quick release.  Beautiful ball placement.  Regardless of what some test suggests, he clearly processes defenses quickly and effectively with his progressions.

Some think Stroud isn't fiery enough. I say he's just stone cold out there. Maybe he's Iceman to Young's Maverick.

Yep he is not elite and signed to start over Trask. What does that make Trask? How is Carson Strong? Who also had durability concerns just like Corral.

This is a snippet from Danes Brugler scouting report on Stroud to support your point. He is still graded favorably as the No. 2 QB and 4th overall prospect

WEAKNESSES:  guilty of locking and lingering on his preferred read … accustomed to being protected very well in the pocket … subpar backfield elusiveness will lead to punishment from NFL pass rushers … inconsistent ability to reset and figure out plan B when the defense fools him … capable of using his legs to scramble (forced 3 missed tackles in the Peach Bowl against Georgia),
but was an inconsistent improviser and didn’t look comfortable escaping for the majority of his OSU career (only 1 missed tackle in his first 27 games) … benefited from an all-star cast around him

SUMMARY: A two-year starter at Ohio State, Stroud was a record-setting passer for the Buckeyes in head coach Ryan Day’s multiple spread offense. While leading
the FBS in touchdown passes (41) in 2022, Stroud broke Drew Brees’ Big Ten record for the most touchdowns in a two-year span and finished with 17 Ohio State
records (second in school history with 8,123 career passing yards). Structurally sound, Stroud throws with patience and poise and he can make all the throws. Though
he appears comfortable on plays designed to move his launch point, his improvisation skills when things break down are a work in progress (his outstanding
performance on the 2022 Georgia tape raises the level of optimism). Overall, Stroud must become more comfortable embracing his athleticism and escapability,
but he is an outstanding rhythm passer with touch, pacing and ball-speed control to carve up the defense. His passing skills give him an encouraging floor as an
NFL starter and his development as a creator will ultimately determine his NFL ceiling.

GRADE: 1st Round (No. 4 overall)

I really do like Stroud. He makes it look easy because a lot of times it was easy. Clean pocket and WRs with separation will be a layup for him everyday. It will be interesting to see how he does when it’s not easy. If he continues from that UGA game he will be something special in the NFL.

Sure thing bud. Removing qb or keeping them on their teams? I’d absolutely take Tenn and Texas roster over Bamas, sans qb. Including Georgia - that’s 3 ROSTERS MINUS QB that we can argue. What would happen if you threw Young onto the preschool for qb that is OSU?

I said the same thing about Trevor Lawrence headed into his draft. I predicted he'd struggle right away because he had the luxury of holding on to the ball for long periods of time at Clemson. The good news is Stroud doesn't hold on to the ball very long at all typically.

Oh god, I forget he was screaming about wanting Carson Strong with a top 10 pick. 😂

Richardson's camp should send him a cease and desist for the jinx job of being ripp's QB of choice.

    • Yep. It was an obvious red flag that a lot of people ignored. The results/scores in preseason don’t matter, but individual performance very much does and individually, we looked like the least talented team in the league and it carried over.
    • Sorry, but in 2015, we didn’t look like poo to the extent of 2023. People who said it’s just preseason were completely wrong. Simple as that. 2015 was a veteran lead team. It was Cam’s 5th year and Luke’s 4th. Even our OL was 80% the same (added Oher) as the great run to finish 2014 with a playoff win. That year can be labeled as preseason doesn’t matter because I’m sure we rested vets and well, Ron/Mike weren’t putting in special plays, etc. I absolutely don’t recall a bunch of us saying that Turner was getting killed on one on ones or that Luke was completely out of position or that Norman was hurt again but probably fine. The only thing that was right about the 2023 preseason is that the minority of us who saw it, were correct that we A) should have been making Young and others play 100% of the reps as there was nothing to hide and B) the preseason means nothing was a bunch of BS trying to stay optimistic when it was obvious that we had way less good talent than the rest of the NFL.
    • You are telling me Paul Maurice is a better coach than Rod??? Yes!!!  It’s because he plays a better system and has a better goalie.   Our system sucks in playoffs and he refuses to roll with Koochie. Dallas cowboys level poo
