How I See Round 2.

BJ is the target imo. Derek Hall is not a target at 39 as a think that would be a reach. Panthers are not interested in Drew Sanders they want a bigger OLB and he is a tweener, between ILB and OLB situatuional. It's BJ or none of those edge guys. BJ is 20 pounds heavier than Sanders keep in mind.

I don't think we do CB this high because it's not seen as a major need by Fitt imo. Sam thing with o-line, not this high but later.

TE will be the trade bait for us to trade down. We're not taking a TE this high imo. We already have a good veteran TE who will not be displaced, and two veteran backups. Trade bait imo.

WR is highly likely to be taken at 39 or after a trade down imo. I want Jalin Hyatt, but I think the Panthers think he's risky for a lot of reasons. I'd take Hyatt, but the Panthers were sniffing around Mingo. I think they want to trade down and take  Jonathan Mingo.

Brain branch is the wildcard. I don't know what our DC will think if Brain is there at 39 because I don't know how he likes to play his 3-4.

Some have mentioned Trenton Simpson. No. He's too similar to Jeremy Chinn.

Round 2 what the Panthers will do:

BJ, or if he's gone trade down with TE as bait. Pick up WR Mingo.

What I would do. BJ or trade down and get WR Hyatt.

Let me look at Hurst contract.

Hayden Hurst signed a 3 year, $21,750,000 contract with the Carolina Panthers.

Yeah he's our main guy for a while. I'll stick with the TE trade bait prediction. I wouldn't hate taking a TE, but I don't see the Panthers doing it.

I love how huge/strong Darnell Washington is, he could be a dominant run blocker if he wants.

Yeah Washington is a man's man. He looks like he's already been through an NFL strength and conditioning program. He's tall but powerful and rugged. Hes ready to get out there and mix it up and not be over powered and roughed up.

BJ is the target imo. I agree---but the Cardinals have nothing there--the weakest position group in the NFL--so that scares me.  Derek Hall is not a target at 39 as a think that would be a reach. We could trade back a bit and get him, but the 3-4 edges are running thin after Hall.  Panthers are not interested in Drew Sanders they want a bigger OLB and he is a tweener, between ILB and OLB situatuional. Did you hear this or are you speculating?  He is 6'4" at 235, two inches taller and three pounds lighter than Nolan Smith.  He is versatile, and could gain 10 lbs to go on that tall frame.  I think it comes down to how he is used, but we don't know yet.   It's BJ or none of those edge guys. BJ is 20 pounds heavier than Sanders keep in mind.  The NFL.com site has BJ at 248 and Sanders at 235.  But to your point, BJs arms are longer--but he is a bit shorter.  I would add that BJ is over Sanders on my board (as if that matters) but Sanders is on my board in round 2,

I don't think we do CB this high because it's not seen as a major need by Fitt imo. Sam thing with o-line, not this high but later.  I think there are developmental CBs later in this draft.  I do, however, think the Panthers would love Branch if he is there--but not over Ojulari.

TE will be the trade bait for us to trade down. We're not taking a TE this high imo. We already have a good veteran TE who will not be displaced, and two veteran backups. Trade bait imo.

I'd take Hyatt, but the Panthers were sniffing around Mingo. I think they want to trade down and take  Jonathan Mingo.  I think the trade down for Mingo is the only way they take a WR, unless they love Downs.  Hyatt is inflated by the Tennessee offense.

Brain branch is the wildcard. I don't know what our DC will think if Brain is there at 39 because I don't know how he likes to play his 3-4.

Craziest thought... just in case Bryce does prove to be too small  for the NFL (I think he's going to be great) the Panthers could just grab Will Levis or Hendon Hooker in the second. If Bryce stays healthy then that back-up QB has had the advantage of Reich, McCown, Dalton and a year of study before the draft next year... could trade him back to some team in need.

Crazy stupid idea...
