Im convinced most of you guys don't travel. It's amazing how many people think Charlotte is a big city. Charlotte is basically a mini Atlanta.

So you're saying Charlotte is not the biggest city on the East Coast? Shame on my geography teacher for telling me otherwise!

Meh, not really.  The NFL wouldn't suffer much if the Panthers left.

you say this but the data tells a different story... year over year Panthers are worth more to the NFL than the following teams when its comes to total revenue:

  • Detroit Lions - $452 million ($114 million)
  • Cincinnati Bengals - $462 million ($89 million)
  • Arizona Cardinals - $467 million ($112 million)
  • Buffalo Bills -  $470 million ($83 million)
  • Jacksonville Jaguars -  $471 million ($114 million)
  • Tennessee Titans - $481 million ($115 million)
  • Indianapolis Colts - $484 million ($100 million)
  • New Orleans Saints - $490 million ($125 million)
  • Los Angeles Chargers - $491 million ($156 million)
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers - $492 million ($62 million)
  • Pittsburgh Steelers - $494 million ($135 million)
  • Kansas City Chiefs - $495 million ($135 million)
  • Minnesota Vikings - $500 million ($141 million)
  • Carolina Panthers - $501 million ($139 million)

What this tells us is that the Charlotte market is a very healthy Market for the NFL. They would not want to risk any transition revenue. When the Chargers and Rams moved from their original locations the NFL lost money. NFL isnt in the business to lose money.

uhh dude you know that Charlotte almost has twice the population than Atlanta, right?  Also, Charlotte is almost 3x the size of Atlanta geography wise....

Charlotte 308 sq miles
Atlanta 134 sq miles

Really odd you chose to argue this one. There is no data that can support your claim here....

Sorry but this is a bad take. Look at the MSA population. Have you even been to Atlanta? No way anyone whose been there could say “Charlotte is bigger”

Hmmm!!! According to that chart Charlotte is bigger than Atlanta and we all know it's a better place to live.

There isn't enough talent for 40 teams, hell it's diluted enough as is.

That was my first thought as well. Although the talent has increased here lately. It still is no where near deep enough for 40 teams. And that isn't even factoring in the QB position. Just ain't gon happen cappen.

What you are using is subjective context, not actual population based metrics. Why on earth would it matter how someone feels about a city's size.... when the market itself to the NFL has nothing to do with the metro....

The SF 49ers' stadium is 1 hour from the SF metro... Chicago's new stadium is going to be almost an hour from the metro.

Looking at MSA population is nothing but a distraction to the actual data on population and total dollar value of a city...

    • Looking like it might be game 7 for Pitt and Phi. Philly is spent. I like more rest for the canes
    • Moton is the man through and through. 2 things I'll always give Gettleman credit for, 1 is drafting Moton, the other is building a SB contending roster and blowing it up in one off-season
    • Kurb is still alive and well.  I’m still friends with him on all of the social media.  He truly is a great man!  That’s my bro!  He always looked out for me since the early days of the huddle.  It definitely makes me sad that he just quit posting here, but that’s life.  He still shares his takes on social media and X, but a lot of the huddle vets just grew tired of this format and the environment, I guess?  It’s a lot of guys that were valuable contributors here that just stopped posting but are still alive and passionate Panthers fans.  Blindsite used to post huge write-ups and was a well-respected poster and then just disappeared.  We had one of these type threads several years ago and he checked back in and explained he just lost the motivation to stay active here.  It was amazing hearing from him again…   I signed up in 04 after coming over from the Charlotte.com boards and been here ever since.  (For those that don’t know - this is Proudiddy - had to change the name very recently due to ‘ol tootsie roll penis and the bad press 😂).  I’m forever thankful for all of you, even those who I haven’t had the greatest history with, I still appreciate yall.  Many have come and gone, both figuratively and literally, and that has put a lot into perspective over the years.  I went from a young, newly married, wide-eyed twenty year-old guy with a baby on the way, to a now forty-two year-old guy, recently divorced and newly re-married guy with my oldest baby now an adult and 5 more kids since.  And what ride it has been!  You guys have been a much bigger part of my life than I really care to acknowledge.😂
