You're right, whats funny is that aside from Interceptions Burns sacks and pressures are almost identical to Julius Peppers first 4 years (burns has played less games as well) and Burns didn't have Steve Smith, Mushin Mahammud, Jake Delhomme, and Stephen Davis on the other side of the ball, this fanbase is something else.

I don’t get this. You want our offense was to be so great that that Burns is playing garbage time and not having to play the run? Personally, I want a 2015 defense that played so well that they gave our offense great field position. Cam doesn’t win the MVP without that D having the most takeaways in the NFL. Cam had 35 passing TDs (tied for 3rd in the NFL with 36 being 1st and 2nd) but our passing yards were 24th, 1400 yards behind 1st.

I think Burns may have a great year but complaining that the offense hasn’t done enough to make Burns be an impact player like Bosa makes the case for the argument that Burns isn’t elite yet. I recall games where Watt or Bosa or heck even Kawann took over a game and blew up the offense by themselves. I don’t think we’ve seen that out of Burns yet. Hopefully, we will because he’s going to be here a long time for a lot of money.

What's the point?

You guys get so worked up over something you can't control. Why the hell should a players contract matter to you?

Like grow up dude. Some people will be rich. You had a life, what you did with yours is on you. Stop hating on these athletes. They all underpaid if we being honest. NFL is a multi biliion dollar business. These players aren't even getting 25% of that.

Get paid players get paid!

Wait, I give you the actual facts that NFL fans do in fact pay the salaries of NFL players and now you want me to grow up? You were the one chastising someone else for using “we” and now you go on a diatribe? I’ve made quite a bit out of my life, pretty damn happy with it. I’m not complaining about their salaries the other guy was. I was just saying he has every right to do so.

Your insecurities are really showing here when you are wrong. Just relax and grow up man, it’s OK for other people to feel however they feel. Just like Burns won’t feel bad for the guy who thinks he’s getting paid too much, he also DGAF about you protecting him. He’ll sign the deal and enjoy the money regardless of you or him. Still doesn’t make my points wrong.

@mrcompletely11 what if someone told you are not that great at your job. They would like you to take a paycut and decrease your yearly salary how would you feel?

Wahhh! If you can’t handle public scrutiny, don’t take a public job. Do you cry when Biden and Trump get made fun of or when Selena Gomez was called fat? Dude, Burns is fine with or without you. He’s not reading this thread and you aren’t his bodyguard.

I've said it 100x now.  He is nothing more then a juvenile troll.  And his dumb ass posts are the evidence

So you basically think people can tell other people what they should and shouldn't make?

My parents always told me don't count another's man pockets. "Pocket watching".

Im a 33 year old CEO. Money is not a problem for me which is why I don't care what other people make. If it was up to me everyone would be millionaires.

NFL is a violent sport. Im always going to support the players when it comes to making the most money they can.

In a perfect world with no salary cap you can pay everyone. Me I’m team first and players getting paid top 5 at the position when they’re not is not good team building. I will always believe a piece of Tom Brady’s success comes from him not always wanting to be the top payed QB

I think you are off the mark with this discussion. ^  The reason to care about a player's salary is because of the salary cap and the need to have as many good players on the team as you can.  Managing that is the important thing.  Got to pay your stars but also need good players around them.  I think an issue was made of something that is not really an issue.

Please move on.

I can see why you think that. But you forgot to add Tom Brady didn't need the money. His wife was richer than him. He could afford to take paycuts.

Not every QB is Tom Brady.

As someone who played football. I know the danger that comes with it. CTE is a real threat short and long term. I will never tell a player not to get the most money they can.

If a bloke can’t live off 10mill a year there’s something wrong.

Brady's biggest goal was being the GOAT. Winning rings was more important than his NFL salary. Add in his TB12 marketing line and all the other money he made from endorsements more than made up for the 20 million he was "underpaid." Hell, the Patriots were buying half his TB12 crap to supplement the salary they weren't paying him.

I agree.

Im just saying not every player has that support system that Brady had.

Most of these players don't have endorsements and other income to fall back on. Some players just play football and that's all they have. At the end of the day they have to make the most money they can. Not everyone has a career after football. These guys use that money to live the rest of their lives. Some still go broke sadly.

Zero people have said that Burns should take less or should not get as much as he can. That is an entirely separate thing from people discussing the potential value of his skillset relative to the league. You have lost the plot a bit here.

    • I can say that I have defended Canales because I get that they are doing all they can to keep from looking like idiots for drafting Bryce, from the trade up to signing $150m guards to drafting XL and Brooks etc---nothing seems to work.  And Hiring Canales was part of the Bryce Young rehab program, so so he can't really decide to "move on."  That has to come from Morgan and Tepper. Personally, I think Bryce is due for an injury.  He is small, he is not thick, and he has been a LOT more healthy than most any other QB has who has endured so much pressure.  The thing that bothers me is this---Bryce really does not go through his progressions quickly.  He locks on to his presnap read and stays locked onto him for too long--he seems to fail to anticipate the WR/TE's positioning on the play before the cut--for example, if the WR is running a dig and the CB has his back to the inside of the field, he should be open for a second or less just after the cut.  He seems to wait until the cut has been made before deciding, then checking down quickly while moving in the pocket. OL:  There seems to be a lack of communication--is that on Mays?  Watch this team presnap--they seem a bit confused at times.   I can almost predict the success rate of the play by watching the center and QB before the snap.
    • Anyone else remember back in 2010 when Fox piloted having music under the in-game replays during one of Carolina's games? Not the commercial bumpers but the actual replay clips that the announcers would talk over. Pretty sure it was vs the 49ers. And it was terrible. Point being, Carolina continues being so bad that we get the networks trying things out during their games.
    • Is it bad I found this video more hilarious than pathetic? I am still laughing at that one play where half the people on the field ran into each other and Bryce still couldn't see Chuba wide open... Also laughing at Cade blocking nobody and somehow losing his cleat Man this offense is a poo show
