That’s fair and I get it but it does make me wonder if Bryce is holding on maybe a second to long also perhaps if our OL gap scheme is wanting.

It is probably a combination of both. They will get into a rhythm as camp goes along. Both sides of the ball need to show out and it sounds like they are slowly starting to find their footing. But until the pads go on and they get some time in them you have to take these ebs and flows in camp with a grain of salt. No need to worry about anything but avoiding injuries right now.

You can quantify it however you like. (That was a tad harsher than I had intended. Sorry bout that. The fact is, there is very little the Oline can do in the way of Pass Protection while they practice in shorts. Nobody wants any injuries in a glorified practice. Once the pads come on, then the actual fun starts.

Edit to add; Also, they are subbing in a lot with the Oline right now. There is no set pattern for reps yet. They are just getting guys work nothing more.

I’m sure Bryce is holding the ball a little long. I would expect that right now.

Also, who knows which O linemen are giving up those sacks. They might be subbing in a lot.

That’s fair too. I wish panthers Twitter would clip full plays so we could actually get a read on what is happening, not just the good.

Yeah, a few of the beat writers have noted that they’ve been mixing up O-line personnel a lot this week and I think they even asked Frank about it.

I saw a clip today where Bryce was at QB and there was a #74 at left tackle and idek who that is on our roster. Needless to say, once pads come on and we get deeper into camp, O-line protection will tighten up and Bryce will be out there with the true 1st team O line regularly.

Yeah, I think we all would love more coverage. Seems counterintuitive to me. The fans want to get excited. Why not give them something to be excited about?

I mean, sure, if you want to work on something in private go ahead. But for just this normal practice stuff? Why not give us something?

#74 is Larnel Coleman. Practice squad guy.

Really awkward exchange between Steve Smith and Bryce. I can’t quite figure out what Bryce thinks Steve was implying here.

Go to 4:40.

That Spartanburg heat beating down on Bryce, making that fuse a little shorter. lol

Seriously. Most plays at camp are going to be vanilla too. Simple simple plays. I’m not asking for a full coaching angle tape. Just half a dozen plays in full. I mean even the world champs are posting that.

If he is it's means nothing right now it's more about executing the plays making the right reads accurately passing the ball. When it's go time I'm sure he'll play up to par because that's what he does. We can hate on his size all we want but processing plays, properly executing plays, and distributing accurate passes are things he does at an elite level.

That was weird, maybe that it’s soft or whatever.  I would have taken more offense at him calling Dalton the starter lol

It was a little awkward but I liked it a lot it shows Bryce may be short but don't play with him. Steve was giving him a little flack for the song being a females song (Kiesha Cole) Bryce was basically like shut it up kill the jokes which shows me he's not a pansy or a marshmallow that you can just give him poo. It's hard to stand up to Steve he's a huge personality and fierce azz competitor so anybody shutting him down in any way shows a very strong mentality it made me look at Bryce as stronger personality than I thought because he seems to carry that quiet shy vibe but this for me debunked that immediately. I may be looking to deep into this but I really liked him shutting down Smitty who was giving him a little sht.

    • Yeah and I am doubtful he can offer that consistently. I don’t have many years left at my age and in my view we have wasted two and this whole exercise with him was always a three year minimum.  I am out on that with a guy I don’t believe in, and never believed in, it has sucked. To me it is a costly detour off the right track. Years.    But I am not so rigid that I can’t see excellence. He needs to display it though, consistently before I change my outlook.
    • No, when I said rage, I meant rage, which only applies to certain fans on this board. Your timeline of trying to assess whether he is the future or not is really tied to the discussions surrounding his second contract. If this team is going to commit to some monster contract while he has shown nothing but glimpses of brilliance would be deservedly worrisome, so the clock is genuinely ticking for him to settle into something resembling his final form. Perhaps a best case scenario is that he plays well, the team succeeds, but he does so with a more limited role that makes the rest of the league view him as a game manager, and his second contract value reflects that. Then he continues to improve and becomes a bargain comparatively while not handicapping the team around him, and we enter an era of consistent championship competitiveness that the fanbase has craved for decades and has never really experienced before. But that requires many, many things to go right and for Bryce himself to facilitate that if he ends up being the quarterback of the future.
    • Exactly. And the flame throwers as well, get location benefits from not going all out. But they have it in reserve.  Not sure how much Greg had but he was an artist.  There was a YouTube I came across last year or maybe even 2023 and I don’t how to even find now but it had two NFL QBs I want say one was Carr from the Raiders but I don’t really remember  The point of it is they stood side by side throwing identical distances to identical targets. Radar gun was used.  They threw the normal effort (not all out) and it was measured etc. Then they were asked to throw their ‘fastball’. They were missing and most often they were missing high. It demonstrated the same principle.    edit: and applying that to arm strength, give me the guy that doesn’t need max effort to have good velocity. The margins are so narrow with less velocity in tne NFL the defenders can Close on it and this is a league where they value down to the 100th of a second level. It is that tight
