Bryce NFLN interview with Steve Smith

I like the demeanor. Confident but yet has the ability to admit shortcomings/lack of knowledge m and even joke about it.  Self realization is a wonderful thing but it can be blurred by past accomplishments and too many people whispering sweet nothings.  This is a very good personality trait IMO.

I still want to know what Bryce thought Steve was trying to imply at the end? That sh*t got awkward quick.

I think Steve was calling cap on Bryce on the definitive song idea and if he wasn’t calling cap he was asking if he was in love with someone the media doesn’t know about. Could be wrong both ways though..

I think Bryce was a bit self conscious about his song selection and didn’t realize that would get out of the locker room. I remember being his age and having a Mariah Carey cd that I liked but was too embarrassed to put in my car cd case that my friends would see. I have no idea what Steve was doing either. Maybe Bryce got ribbed by his teammates for it already and was just in that head space. It seems like he and Smith have a fine relationship, Bryce was comfortable enough to check him a little and Steve tried to help Bryce feel less self conscious about it and they were able to bring it back to center in the end.

My music selection contains everything from different styles, to songs sung in different languages.  I like how Bryce is coming in developing his frame.  He doesn't look overwhelmed in getting his weight up.  He looks ready for take off!

I got the impression Bryce thought Smitty was trying to get him to sing some of it there on camera and Bryce was like that’s not happening lol

    • I read that Pittsburgh is a possibility.  I think of college QB studs who had some form of mental quirk yet tons of talent--but their issue made being a team leader difficult and it led to their demise--going back:  Jamarcus Russell, Art Schlichter, Jeff George, etc. I think people forget that the QB must not only have talent, but they must lead.
    • I wish I knew more details, but the NIL money to 20-year olds combined with easy access to gambling sites is a side effect that these kids may not have considered.  To your point,A famous 2009 Sports Illustrated article titled “How (and Why) Athletes Go Broke” estimated that 78% of retired NFL players go bankrupt or face significant financial stress within two years of leaving the league.  I am guessing that ego and $$$ and the thrill of competition (most pro athletes love competition because they are the winners) makes it a powerful temptation.  Throw in the ease of gambling on your phone which is always in your hand, and I see your point x 10.
    • Freeling got some reps at RT when they gave Moton a rest day--I sorta hope Freeling gets brought along slowly as you describe.  It would be better for him for reasons you provide.  We have a really good problem.
