PJ's return up in the air

I'm a little bit torn on this. PJ is a good role player we could still use and in theory he has upside but I highly highly doubt he ever comes close to reaching that upside from what we've seen so far. Some games though he is just so incredibly bad and invisible that makes me think it'll be fine moving on from him. Miles is definitely much better on the court than PJ and has the LaMelo connection so I understand picking him over PJ for those reasons. The off court stuff made it more of a decision but in a league so void of talent, you really do have to take a chance on Miles like we have if that's the position you're in.

I’m in the same spot as you. It just feels like there are way too many games where he essentially is a no show. His floor should be much higher at this point.

I think we should move on from PJ, who   will probably always be nothing more than a role player and can be easy  replaced.

I like him too. Nice depth piece but we need him to be a star PF now. I think that ship has sailed unfortunately because he had to hold it down at center for so long.

PJ is a really nice player IMO.  No way I over pay for his services but he is still young and has a really nice game.  I hope we keep him at the right price

Sounds like he's going to sign his restricted tenure. Mans couldn't find anyone that wanted him.

    • I would be quite surprised if he got more than a fine. Flopping has long been out of hand in the NBA. There were definitely some Heat players doing extra selling fouls. LaMelo seems to be getting quite a bit of hate on social media for the Bam injury though. And it is fair to wonder how the next opponent might defend him going forward knowing what happened. I don't think we can just be homers and dismiss it entirely especially after all the complaints we've made about the Pistons in particular. I think this group better be prepared for a very physical game on Friday.
    • When you look closely at the play it was careless from Melo but bang bang full speed I don’t think it was intentional or dirty or deserving of a foul. Bam’s off balance momentum was already carrying him towards a fall and even if Melo didn’t touch him it may have had the exact same outcome. And honestly I think he did try to sell it more when he felt LaMelo’s hand. Dudes arms flopped back instead of bracing for the fall. Sucks he got hurt but a suspension would be ridiculous and an awful look for the league. Fine and move on
    • Sure but it literally would be benching him lol, and it would kill his confidence. He’ll get back in a rhythm, kid just had an all time great rookie season and led the league in 3s, you gotta stick with him as starter. But yeah I’m all for getting some more lineups throughout the game with Coby and Melo   and yeah Miles’ block and Coby and others jumping him in celebration was fuging epic
