let's quit living in the past. Let's stick to what is relevant for this year. We all know you are the most negative poster here. Not surprised you'd think like this.

Let's quit living in the past and pay a player based on what we hope he turns out to be instead of what he's actually done on the field. Marty is that you?

And that is your opinion. Just because you can think it, does not make it so.

The contracts are the contracts.  What do elite pass rushing specialist get?  That’s not opinion.

now, it is my opinion Burns is an elite pass rusher.   He isn’t Julius Peppers 2.0.  Burns has done little outside of rush the passer in the NFL at a high level.

8th in sacks, 3rd in pressures, top 10 in run stuffs. Top ten in tackles among edge players. Moving to a position that fits his build and play style even more...

Now this is true information. Too bad folks won't believe it, or will just ignore it. Facts don't work on the folks thinking the worst.

lol God I love this place. The Rams don't offer 2 1st and more for a "Slightly above average pass rusher".

Look at his numbers.  He's not putting up 15 sacks a year. He wants watt money and has never dominated like that.  He is very good but isn't a top 10 guy imo. Average would be a guy in the 25-35 range.  He's is in the 20-10 range but he isn't a top 10 pass rusher

The eye test tells me 2 first and a second is worth more then him at 20 million dollars a year.  Doesn't mean he isn't good I just don't think he's great

I read it.  Brian Burns is an elite pass rusher.  That’s what I said.  And then someone posted his pass rushing stats.

if you want to argue Burns is Peppers 2.0 or comparable to Bosa tier player, you would need to supply some facts for that argument.   Which wouldn’t be his sacks or pressures. Because that’s acknowledged in the initial statement.

Biggest game of his career.  55 pff rating.   How about them facts?

PFF didn’t grade him out as a top 25 edge player in 2022.   Because more than pass rushing was factored.

But Burns is an elite pass rusher.  But those wanting him to get the same deal Bosa gets are way off.  And it’s not Burns hate to acknowledge he isn’t a Bosa

    • The panthers are such a trash organization at this point that all the huddle can do is argue about which panthers team is historically the worst…good times.
    • Well, hope they're not worried about a torn Labrum or Rotator Cuff, as someone who went through that myself, I know those don't have anything show up on X-Rays but from the MRI, so this is kinda a nothing update, hope it's not a tear or his season is already over if they decide to do surgery now. Which is basically what would be needed to get him to 100% for the start of next season's training camp if it's a labrum.  If he plays the season with it and then does surgery, he's not going to be ready for camp and probably not the start of the season either.
    • I always try to not pay much attention to a team’s preseason win/loss record. The 1982 Washington and 2021 LA Rams both lost every game in the preseason and went on to win the Super Bowl, whereas the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2017 Cleveland Browns both won every game in reason and went on to lose every regular season game. There’s many examples of teams that lose in preseason that go on to have good seasons, but equally there are teams that lose in preseason and that continues in the regular season. Which will we be?  I think our floor is a handful of wins, while our ceiling will probably be around the 9-10 win mark. The latter will require significant improvement from the whole team and coaching staff, and will also need Bryce to play like the QB we drafted him to be. I want to be optimistic and predict a winning season, but it’s really difficult as a Panthers fan!
