Elite pass rushers get paid. Am glad we have one.

My opinion is based on experience negotiating contacts. You always keep your cards close to the chest and never look eager. When you can smell desperation the only real question is how much is it going to end up costing them. We're desperate, Burns' agent knows it, we've established his value at 3 1sts, that's Bosa level money. We lost the negotiations before we even sat down.

I don’t need to provide evidence for the obvious. Whether you think Burns is worth Bosa money or not he has all the leverage now. Let the defense struggle without their best pass rusher while holding out, force a trade that won’t be near what the rams offered(now that Carolina is backed into a corner) or pay him top edge money. 
 

I bet he gets his big contact any day now

Because he knows we value him as a Bosa level player which means he doesn't have to sign for less because he knows that we're willing to pay more. You can't say you're only willing to pay 25 when your actions say you'll pay more.

2024 and 2025. They’re probably one of the worst teams in the league, with Burns. Not gonna take a side and say which I want between the two but those picks are probably top 4-6 picks. Mcvay, old Stafford, going through things Kupp, barely wanting to play anymore Donald is not enough to overcome how barren and bad that team is. Bottom five OL, bottom five defense, terrible weapons.

He may have been willing to but now he knows he doesn't have to. The Rams offer established value. Typically when you enter a negotiation you have a bottom line you're willing to accept. If you know the other side has a bottom line higher than yours, you move yours. You don't have to settle for less because you know they will pay more. There's a lot less pressure when you know their numbers.

      I fully expect them to pick up his 5th year , and they're waiting for him to put a full excellent consistent season of QB play in year 4 or 5. If that don't happen,  they'll eventually cut ties.  Here's to hoping he just goes on a team in 2026. The worst thing he could do is continue to see-saw us to around .500 records because it might be impossible to replace him at that point unless youre willing to do the veteran qb carousel poo we did from 2019 to 2023.

      What do you think of Bryce Youngs career thus far? Are you excited about his progress or is it not enough for you? I included a poll of ranking his performance through 3 years thus far.  I personally think he's made some decent progress. Has had some high moments (last half of 2024, Rams game, ATL game in 2025)  but in my mind, those are still outweighed by the many more lowlights thus far (ex turnovers, missed throws, poor decisions)  It's a very mixed bag for me. He's done enough to get a 5th year option but by no means should we lock him in with a 50+ mil a year multi year deal. I want to see him play consistently well for a full year before that happens (yes, I'm still saying that going into year 4. That might be telling).  Just sucks when you see CJ Stroud, Jayden Daniel's, Caleb Williams almost immediately lighting poo up with their arm talent. Maybe Bryce is just an ultra slow burn. I don't know what to think anymore. Guess we're gonna be stuck with him for a whilr unless we end up being bad enough to earn a high pick next year. I doubted it lol. Overall Stats for his career:       ● 14 W - 30L (regular season)       ● 0-1 playoffs record        ● 61.4% completion, 8291 passing yards, 49 TDs, 30 INTs  Year 1:       ● 2 wins, 14 losses      ● 60% completion rate, 2877 passing yards, 11 TD to 10 INTs, 5.5 yards per attempted pass Year 2:        ● 4 wins , 8 losses        ● 60.9% completion rate,  2403 passing yards, 15 TD, 9 INTs,  6.3 yards per attempted pass  Year 3:        ● 8 Wins, 8 Losses         ● 63.6% competition rate, 3011 passing yards, 23 TDs to 11 INTs  Playoffs         ● 1 game in year 3 ( 0 - 1 in playoffs)         ● 21/40 (52.5% completion rate), 264 passing yards, 1 TD, 1 INT.
