The 2nd Reich has not gotten off to a good start, and at this rate it looks like it will end in flames if there is no improvement, given Teppers track record of patience. Oddly enough, since Tepper began his ownership, this is the worst this team has looked, albeit through two weeks.

That said, what worked last year after Rhule was let go? Wilks came in and immediately put in practice what Rhule said he wanted, "run the ball". We went from throwing 40 times a game to running 40 times a game and going play action off of that. Why? It takes pressure off of our poor pass blocking offensive line and our receivers who are probably bottom 4th in the league, as a group.

We had the same issue last year, every QB looked lost when they played, and then Wilks comes in, Darnold comes back, and it's like the Panthers are an NFL team again. That worked because we relied on the run to open the pass. Under center formations are easier to run off of and present more versatility.

19 rushes total with only 10 coming from your $24 million running back isn't going to win games Reich. Get it together.

The entire opposing D is within 10 yards of the LOS most plays. We had a 3rd and 9 last night and the Saints had 9 men on the LOS and the safeties were standing at the first down sticks. Until we can create some sort of down field threat life is going to be very difficult on offense. Defenses are just keying on the run and short passing game because that's all we've been able to execute so far.

So you go heavy sets, counters, change the formations, etc. until you get an unbalanced look you like to run out of. Then you hit them on Play action down the field a few times put of the same looks.

They won't keep 9 men in the box long if you can run and throw out of the same look. The problem with running out of the shotgun is that you're not going to create many advantages in leverage, and the defense can take defenders out of the box. Then when you are either throwing a screen or running out of a single back look, they know what to key on. We need a true, under center play action downfield passing game. 

As of now, it's all too predictable.

Because they will "ram it up the gut" on 1st and 2nd down, then throw out of the shotgun. You have to mix up play calls out of the same formations to keep the defense off of their mark, similar to what allowed Sam to really thrive in 2022. 

You don't run out of an under center look and then go shotgun to throw every time like we saw. There is zero flow to play calling right now and it's like Reich is shooting from the hip. They need to get Bryce comfortable with running the pass game and run game from under center.

Reminds me of our 1-7 finish to 2018 when opponents realize Cam’s arm was shot that year and he couldn’t throw it deep.

Sanders needs to be the second string RB. I think we're seeing why the Eagles let him go. There must not have been any tread left on the tires.

Chuba should be starting right now while we look for someone else.

Trading away CMC sure looks like yet another chump move we've made. He sure would be helping right now.

I think it's because every time he's tried to fit the ball in its either picked or nearly picked. So now he's tried to start floating them in and is choosing to miss safe if he's gonna miss. Trying to float those balls into traffic at this level requires perfect accuracy. There's just no room for error at all. Bryce is going to need to have an Einstein level football brain because he's working with some really physical limitations. He was a great college player but he might be a coach at the NFL level.

      Just as we won those close games we could have just as easily lost them. So the jury is out on if we were more lucky than good ( see the sweep by the saints) Were moving forward on paper. And how badly dont we all want to see us back to at least Above average form. Its about time.

      If you're looking for a pat on the back it sounds good in theory until you realize they also had the 2023 Panthers as the top draft class.

      Going into the 2003 and 2015 seasons we were supposed to be the joke of the league each time. In 2003, John Fox was supposed to still be in rebuild mode. We had a guy named Peppers on the defensive line who was supposed to be pretty good. We had Rodney Peete as our starting QB and a line that was a lot of hope and not much experience. Our new running back was a guy the Redskins, errrr Commanders, had jettisoned for being too old. We had a good kicker and writers thought that was needed because there were going to be more field goals than touch downs. Heck, it looked like they were right up until just before halftime of that first game when we had to yank Rodney Peete and put in some Cajun duded whose name couldn't be pronounced. And Steve Smith? He wasn't Smitty yet. Moose Muhammad, well, he was close to being written off as a bust. You know how that turned out. And then in 2015, we had Cam Newton, who was electrifying to watch but hadn't really won anything yet. There was an offensive line in front of him that looked like it was made in a defunct Swiss cheese factory and our big hope on offense was the great Kelvin Benjamin. And then he got taken out for the year with a knee injury in training camp. Ted "Feet of Lightning, Hands of Stone" Ginn became our default go to guy beside our next best hope, yeah, Devin Funchess. Our defense was pretty good, a scrappy bunch with frikkin' awesome linebacker play and a cornerback who had done more than drank the Kool-Aid, but had snorted the powder. He played like a superhero and became sort of a bat-man during the season. By the Super Bowl he had completely lost his freaking mind, though, and managed to talk his way out of a contract with the team next year. No one was expecting us to win the NFCSouth that season, much less almost go undefeated and into the Super Bowl. So, 2026? Who knows? But our best seasons came when no one had a reason to believe in us, except us.
