There wouldn't be a QB controversy in that scenario. You'd ride Dalton as long as he kept playing that way.

Yup. If he's doing that well, let Bryce spend a season taking mental reps. Rodgers rode the bench for 3 years. Worked out pretty well for him, and the team.

Hey guys, remember the part where I was called insane and dumb for speculating that this was a soft benching and the staff using the phantom injury to save face and if Bryce still ended up playing my theory fell apart?  What a crazy conspiracy, right?

🤣

You're right. Let's just fold the franchise.

You and I would.  But would a FO and HC be willing to admit that BY isn’t ready after declaring him the starter a couple days into camp?  That’s a tough pill to swallow

They wouldn't. They'd ride this phantom ankle injury.

If they put him in a boot for appearance sake after everyone saw him walking around looking fine at practice today then you know it's bullshit.

If they're thinking that way that vibe sure changed fast.

If my dumbass could look at the south and look at this roster and see we are starting a rookie qb and know we are in for a long season then how does this dumb motherfuger not see it?   Fitt needs to be shown the door like yesterday.   Was it dumbass fitt or dumbass tepper/nicole that said Stechien was a bad zoom interview but yet we hired this 62 year old retread that is insistent on call weak ass plays?

No, you wouldn't. Andy Dalton isn't the future of poo.

The problem here is some of you, for some reason, expected this to be a playoff team despite all evidence to the contrary and now you're suddenly realizing that you were wrong.

Starting Dalton means nothing for this staff in the long run. A win Sunday means nothing for this staff in the long run. A playoff berth with Dalton at QB means nothing for this staff in the long run. Bryce Young is either the future of this team or Tepper is going to clean house within 2 years and start over.

Benching Bryce Young with a fake injury would essentially be this staff throwing in the towel and telling Tepper that they can't do what he specifically hired them to do. That would be FAR more damaging to their careers than starting him and getting poor play from a rookie QB.

It's always within reach until it isn't.  It's a lot tougher to flip a roster in the NFL then they realized I'm sure.

Its really troubling that they totally misassesed this roster and think its good enough to win now.  Their plan is to throw poo against the wall and pray the coach can win with it.

You would honestly bench a guy putting up 275+ yards and 35 points to play your shiny rookie out of pride? That would be dumb.

I'm fairly certain they stated we would start off slow, but see improvements towards the end of the year.   That was after the preseason.  Remember @CamWhoaaCam got mad and you were telling him that our staff is saying what you were saying all offseason?  As for the offseason quotes, I wouldn't put too much weight into any of that.

    • So funny see people continue to talk like Darnold isn’t one of the best QBs in the NFL for the second season in a row. Two different teams and situations, he is for real and not just a product of the system.   He struggles under pressure lol what QB doesn’t? Did anyone watch Mahomes in the SB?
    • While I was aware that Horn does not shadow WR1 I learned something interesting in the game from one of the announcers ... Horn ALWAYS plays the short side of the field.  As in, he will switch sides when the ball moves from one hash tag to the other. It seems intuitive that short side of field equals easier route coverage (correct me if I'm wrong) and expanding further I wonder if Mike Jackson was put into that role would his stats improve? If Horn is such a shut down corner, why isn't he just following the biggest WR threat around the field? Is there something inherently harder about covering the short side of the field?  Why make life easier for your best CB?
    • I wonder what the true state of Chuba's calf is? I remember it being mentioned a couple of times last year that it was something they were managing then after the Cardinals game last year we put him on IR. He then reinjured it this year. That would seem to explain why he looks slower and less explosive than in years past. Chubas running style was a one cut explode through the hole type of back and it just doesn't look like he has that ability right now.
