NFL Playbook breakdown Panthers Defense

I love how they never say what a good Job we dont and what a bad job they do.

Exactly what I thought right when it ended

This applies to every team and every game. What is your point? The Panthers suck? Possibly, but they whipped the Vikings, and at the end of the day all that matters is the W.

Sounded to me like they had a lot of good things to say, esp. regarding the linebackers. Pointing out some stupid play by the offense isn't taking credit away, it's pointing out the facts. Carolina still took advantage and made the plays. I KNOW we've seen plenty of examples of stupid play resulting in opposition opportunity.

Personally, I'm impressed with how the Defense goes from learning a totally different scheme by Meeks, which was obvious in the beginning of the season...and dominating a team like the Vikings in the end. If they can do the same to the Giants and Saints, they will have a huge confidence boost for next season, if we keep Meeks...and I think we should, judging by the way the D is playing.

Mayock gave us a bunch of credit there, especially for Anderson and Beason. He didn't take away anything from us by pointing out how we capitalized on the Vikings' mistakes. If anything, that's praise for our coaches creating mismatches and adjusting the Defense to exploit their weaknesses.

I watched the other vids on there. If you wanna rail against anyone, listen to how whiny Mooch gets on NFLN, as his good buddy Brett gets abused by our D. I'm surprised he didn't start sulking on air right then and there. I've liked Mooch in the past, but it was obvious how cranky he was getting analyzing how well we beat the poo out of Lord Favre and Purple Jesus. Too funny!

Agreed. Some people around here are too quick to throw out the disrespect card. How the hell can they say our D wasn't given their props? They need to watch that video again. They couldn't get over our LB play.

On that 3rd and 1 play, it was a Vikings mistake that cost them that play. That fullback should have run to the inside, but ends up wasting his block on somebody who was already covered. Our defense played a great game AND they capitalized on Viking mistakes.

    • My thing with that is you can’t look at it is a vacuum. Things are symbiotic, if I am using that word right. I know that the playbook is a certain way because of Young’s skill set. Just opening things up to different options would change the whole thing for everybody involved. A whole new equation.    Otherwise to the original idea, Wallace was a bad pick. I thought so last year when he got on the field and really never improved. And can’t think of them right now but I know there are examples of a coach or GM being great at a position but cannot fill it on his team. But Dan, that Wallace evaluation; wtf happened?  But I think the 2025 rookies are looking pretty good if you are grading on a Panther curve. T Mac will make his QB better (I think we see that now). I really hope Zavala isn’t reverting to 2023 form. Because we will be screwed.  Kicker couldn’t make it from what, 57? To me, if your defense is strong and is balling and you punt the ball, I won’t complain. This, today, wasn’t that. Canales is still a young coach and still green.
    • Is Bryce is going to have success at any level as a quarterback in the NFL he has to eliminate his turnovers. This was a very winnable game today without his turnovers.
    • Not the same scheme as 1997 dude
