Because reich calls plays based off what he know his qb is capable of and the fact he is a rookie.

Frank independently sucks.  This horrific and predictable scheme/playcalling isn't created for Bryce.  It's what he does.

Frank doesn't just suck out of catering to a rookie.    A limited rookie definitely makes Frank probably worse.  I mean, everything is essentially designed for his classic big body QB to sit back there.   Frank is a dinosaur.  There has been no real adapting for Bryce to be successful as a rookie.  Frank's idea of helping Bryce is to just have even worse playcalls and be more predictable.

Calling the same couple plays over and over with one second on the play clock isn’t helping any rookie develop. Look at Reich his his rookie QB vs the other HCs and their rookie QB. They run a much more open play book.

You can cover your ears and scream Bryce is the problem all you want but it doesn’t change the reality of Frank Reich being a total failure of a head coach.

Listen...the playcalling isnt great but that IS NOT GOING TO FIX this kids issues alone. I could understand if that was the only thing but that doesn't change the fact that he is still either missing guys or just not seeing them when they are open. I counted a couple times he missed theilen or didnt see him the other day. The play circling social media right now where he misses theilen on a double move for a TD is a prime example. Thats been just as consistent as the playcalling, and when you combine that with the careless turnovers you cant put that on frank like you want. Im not trying to defend frank, but dalton playing well on his watch and bryce struggling did not help bryce case. I think the accountability should even out and i stand on that just like i have everything else since the draft. You can keep the delusion up if you want, im not the one here making excuses, throwing blame, and being resentful about things i Said months later. Everything is played out based off my assessments back then so it is what is. You can Do or say what you feel, i will continue to watch the games and see the reality in front of me.

    • Jake in his prime was a gutsy QB. But just like with even someone like Cam. Father time is undefeated. It's very unfortunate we have a guy who is only 24 years old that has an equivalent arm to that. Absolutely blows my mind that our brain trust lacked the basic common sense to value arm talent when making a massive trade with ramifications for years to come. Unforgivable incompetence.
    • Jake, to me, will always hold a special place in my heart.  I really feel like for his era, he deserved way more love than he got, and should’ve had more than his one Pro Bowl.  He was a gamer with an underrated rocket arm. but let me tell you, after his Tommy John surgery, when he came back, I can’t remember who it was against, but it think it was a division game, he threw a ball that was supposed to be a throw away, as I think he was under pressure, and that poo floated forever and died right at the boundary where a defender ran over and picked it off.  One of the worst throws I ever saw.  His arm just wasn’t the same after the injury and surgery.  All that to say, that’s what almost every Bryce throw to the sidelines looks like to me.
    • And again, when watching him in college he had one distinct trait that I feel makes a franchise QB - on those plays when everything breaks down around him, he creates one on his own.  He doesn’t rely on or need everyone else.  That play last night on the final drive where he was getting sacked and threw it to Diggs before his knee hit the ground?  He does similar things all the time.  Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, etc., they all do it.  It’s what made Cam so special. but we picked a guy that’s the opposite of that.  He desperately needs someone else to make a play for him because he can’t.  Even that play yesterday on 4th down to Horn.  That wasn’t a great pass.  The defender was late and came down to make a play in the ball and Bryce threw it high and outside where Horn had to leave his feet and really use strong hands to catch it.  We relied on a 5’9” rookie playing in his first pro game to make THAT catch at THAT time bc of the early turnovers and a not great throw.  Crazy.
