I'd take Jeudy for a 3rd. TMJ just flat out sucks and I doubt we could find a better WR in the third round with the way Fritterer has been picking. TMJ was a 2nd round pick and Mingo has already taken his spot in his rookie year.

Can we trade JJ for TMJ straight up. We'll eat the 13m and TMJ can go ride the pine in Denver. Mims looks like the real deal but for whatever reason Peyton won't play him more.

This is a trade with the future in mind IMO if they do it. Since they lack picks, and may not recruit well in FA this would be a solid move.

Because say its a 3rd, you're not getting a WR equal to Jeudy there. This way you have a proven guy young enough to grow with Bryce, and he's still on a rookie deal with a 5th yr opt avail so the cost is also controlled.

It’s controlled at 13M for one year. Where you could have a 3rd round rookie at 5-6M. For FOUR years.

I’m sure it would. But the Bengals(or any team) hangs up immediately. What’s the thought process here?

Burns isn’t worth Higgins and a 1st. He’s barely worth either, separately And TMJ sure ain’t worth a 4th. To a Bengal team that has one DE better than Burns already, and another who is well above average. Signed thru 2025 at less than Burns wants, by himself. The Bengals don’t want Burns.

If you don't think Burns is worth Higgins or a 1st separately, you don't understand how the NFL views pass rushers

The Broncos were able to trade Bradley Chubb and a 5th for a 1st, 4th, and a player, and Burns had 18 more sacks after his first 4 years than Chubb had at that point.  And Chubb had 5.5 sacks in 8 games before being traded during his 5th year, Burns already has 3 sacks after only 4 games during his 5th year.

100% chance a team would be willing to trade more than just a single 1st round pick for Burns this year, it's just a matter of our front office not being stupid this time and taking it.

In the Pro-Juedy defense camp, Juedy is likely better than anything we would draft in the second or third round anyway at WR lol

I will say this, he is probably a better fit in the system we run. He would also likely immediately be the best route runner on the team or maybe a close second to AT.

So, Juedy, a 1, and a 4 for Burns? That 1 is going to be a high 1.

Here is the only way I’m okay with trading for Jeudy (and I don’t even know if it’s possible to do to a 5th year option from a first round contract).

5th round pick for Jeudy AFTER they re-negotiate his $13 million owed to him next year to be a $10 million bonus paid by the Broncos before the trade and this only putting us on the hook for $3 million next year.

Any draft capital better than that and any money more than that on our books and it’s a complete non starter for me.

He is a first round talent who has played like a replacement level player for his whole career, we need to stop going after guys like that.

Not gonna happen.  It’s a seller’s market when it comes to the Panthers and a WR.  There’s just no team out there that doesn’t understand that.  The only way we’re getting a #1 type WR option is to overpay for it.

It’s time to run what ya brung and see where it goes.

Well, I'd do that one in a heartbeat because that Broncos 1st rounder would allow us to then trade Bryce in the offseason and use their pick to replace him with one of the elite prospects in this upcoming draft as they'll be a Top 5 pick.

But that's also why they won't trade their 1st away, they're already planning on replacing Wilson with it.

That's going to really depend on how bad Fitts has fugged up this contract situation. If everyone knows we are far apart and aren't a contender for playoffs, then they wait unless they are hoping to make a SB run like the Rams were. Burns makes it to FA, even with the tag, the Panthers have almost zero leverage to negotiate anything. The longer we wait, the weaker we get in terms of trade value.

I agree, which is why there really are only 2 trades out there that I'd make during this season to go after a WR.

I'd trade Burns to the Lions for Jameson and a 1st or to the Bengals for Higgins and a 1st, but I don't think either of the other sides would do it as I think if the Bengals trade Higgins, they want draft picks, and I don't see the Lions trading for Burns to pay him this summer and then have to pay Hutchinson next summer as well.

Nah.... the Panthers leverage in any Burns trade is that other teams will want him.

You could even make the argument that knowing we can't come to a deal with him actually would make teams want to overpay to get him because they know they'll have to battle other interested teams and many would view a pass rusher like him as the final piece to a SB run.

99.9 the fan broke it down in a holy crap way. We basically traded Jalen Carter(#9 pick), DJ Moore, potentially Caleb Williams/Marvin Harrison jr etc if we keep sucking, and like 2 second round picks for Bryce.

    • https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/47371200/sources-rams-fire-special-teams-coordinator-chase-blackburn LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Rams have fired special teams coordinator Chase Blackburn, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. The move marks the first in-season coaching change that Rams head coach Sean McVay has made in his nine seasons in Los Angeles. Rams assistant special teams coach Ben Kotwica will take over and become the lead special teams coach, a source told Schefter. The Rams, 11-4 and second place in the NFC West, lost to the Seahawks on Thursday night in a game that included a Seattle punt return for a touchdown and a missed 48-yard field goal by Los Angeles kicker Harrison Mevis. The Seahawks (12-3) overtook the Rams for first place in the division and the top overall record in the NFC thanks to the 38-37 overtime victory. Though the Rams have lost only four games this season, three have involved special teams miscues. In the Rams' first loss of the season, 33-26 to the Eagles, Los Angeles had its final two offensive possessions end with blocked kicks. In the Rams' Week 10 victory over the Saints, kicker Joshua Karty missed an extra point and a 39-yard field goal attempt. After the game, McVay said the Rams' special teams issues "can't continue like this." Los Angeles replaced long-snapper Alex Ward with Jake McQuaide and Karty with Mevis, who had not missed a kick until Thursday night in Seattle. Blackburn, 42, was in his third season as the Rams' special teams coordinator. A former linebacker for the Giants and Panthers, he also has worked as an assistant with Carolina and Tennessee.
    • It was a bad play from Icky but the OL didn't give up a sack until late in the 4th quarter and Bryce just stood there like he was canatonic. If our 3rd year number one overall pick can't overcome one single sack against a rebuilding Saints team that should only have 2 wins this season then it isn't ever going to happen   This is your quote. I mean I’ve quoted it twice. It was followed by calling people that defended him fugers and several other meltdowns I can also quote.    Shame you for working for a living??? Wow this is a whole new level to your victim mentality thing you like to do. You don’t have to watch games live. Or don’t spend an entire thread arguing about something you didn’t get the full picture of. I miss parts of games all the time. That’s just life. Not even going into the whole losing all respect thing.
    • Rams ended up firing ST coach and former Panthers coach Chase Blackburn after the loss. Sounds all too familiar.
