He might have some influence there. He was high on Young and Mingo.

Didn’t Tepper physically say that Smitty called and told them to draft Mingo or they reached out to Smitty to ask if we should take him?

I wouldn't even take him if the Broncos said we could have him for no draft compensation because I wouldn't want to pay him his 13 mil next year for a terrible WR. We overpay enough terrible players to add another one. Jeudy has shown absolutely nothing in this league.

Yeah 13 mill for Jeudy, 3 mill (dead money)for Chark and that’s 16 million towards nothing overly special

We already have enough sh!tty contracts back on the books already for next year we don’t need another.

You either make a big time trade involving Burns/Brown for a legitimate WR1 or find some speed for cheap. They can’t go throwing 13 mill around on a ? Like Jeudy

    • I never thought a second look was even necessary. I was begging the football gods not to have us trade up to the 1st pick. And damn once we did it was a thoroughbred vs a little pony.    If you have a perceived generational player in the pool and you have the 1st pick, you just don’t trade it. In the first place. But all this Bryce drama - which (understandably) takes over almost any thread, just like this one - would never have happened if the team was not sold to Tepper.
    • I agree. I understand why he did though. And surely he had his parents in his ear who have always gone out of their way to make sure he always had the best and the least amount of adversity around him to that point in his life advising him to do so. Where I take the most issue with it is when people who just want to be sycophants start listing off other QB's who didn't throw at the combine and you don't even make it through half the names before your eyes roll right into the back of your head realizing every single of those QB's who didn't throw already clearly showcased the necessary prerequisite physical talents needed for the position.
