Beyond pissed

$13 million guaranteed next year for an average WR who can’t succeed and is no longer wanted in a Sean Payton offense.

Says all you need to know, plus he’s a complete diva, not what we need around Bryce.

Not Panther related but I'd like to see the Vikings trade for Jameis Winston. Seeing him throw it deep to Jefferson and Addison 30 times a game would be fun. Now granted 15 of those throws would be intercepted but the other 15 would be some pretty awesome touchdown highlights. Jameis is the NFL readzone of NFL QB's but it would be more entertaining than watching Jaren Hall. The Vikings have already won to many games to tank for Caleb Williams and Drake Maye.

Don’t think I’d like it even for a 7th. Hell, don’t think I’d like it even for TMJ straight up who only played 4 snaps Sunday. We may have bums, but at least they’re cheap bums who aren’t acting a fool on National tv. They’d have to give us a pick to take Jeudy.

Per a recent Athletic article, some musings:

Before Chinn's injury, IF he would've been dealt, the comp would have apparently been a Day 3 pick. A 4th-6th makes sense given his recent play but just crazy given how valuable we thought he was not even 2 years ago (and how young he is).

TMJ could be a release at this point.  Best case is a pick swap.

Hurst is apparently frustrated.  Don't be surprised if we cut the bait with Miles and Hurst sooner than expected.  Their snap counts are shrinking and the dead cap situation won't be detrimental.  Although it would be an admitted miss on Fitt's end, it's not out of the box given they're not in favor with coaching right now.  Tremble and Hubbard has supplanted both for the time being.

I don't expect anything from us today.  But who knows, you never know.

Adams wouldn’t be okay with coming here, he wants to win

The Raiders also aren’t trading for Burns because they already have Crosby who has had some trade rumors float around with him.

The Raiders also aren’t trading their first round pick when it’s clear they need to use it for a QB

But, what about a 3 team trade?

Burns, TMJ, and Lions 2nd to the Raiders

Adams and Crosby to Lions

Jameson, Lions 1st to Panthers

    • You joke, but it can always be worse. He might walk with a limp or need assistance. Different sport, but Lonzo Ball couldn't even walk up steps a year after his injury.
    • I mean... a lot of the information that could've helped set better expectations has always been out there: There was no RB on the team under contract for the 2025 - 2026 season except for Miles Sanders. The team did not have a second round pick going into the 2025 season due to the trade for Young. Chuba's extension did not happen until the beginning of November. Jonathon Brooks was the clear RB1 in the class with a massive gap between RB1 & RB2. Example: Dane Brugler had Brooks as RB1, overall #48; Blake Corum was RB2, #81 overall. The Giants held pick #47 and had just lost Saquon Barkley to the Eagles in free agency. They were going to take Brooks had the Panthers not jumped in front of them. So if we're framing things with that context: Chuba was expected to be RB1 Miles (at the time) was RB2 Brooks was essentially RB3, stashed for rehab in 2024 with a long runway. The original injury occurred Nov 2023 while the re-injury occurred December 2024. That is right in the high-risk window for recurrence, especially in explosive athletes. The fact that it also happened on a non-contact play suggests possible biomechanical issues such as muscle imbalance, rather than a failed surgery (or bad decision-making).   NFL teams invest heavily in medically vetting prospects. If there had been a clear red flag in imaging or recovery markers, the team is going to find it. This sucks and the Panthers have sucked, yes, but this wasn't blind optimism or malpractice by the front office. It was a calculated decision based on the roster, draft capital, positional scarcity, etc.
    • Yep, but they can all rotate with Brown, Brown and Robinson (sounds like a law firm). Can't continue to have Derrick Brown out there for 90+ percent of the defensive snaps. An injury was bound to happen.
