I love Melo but the group that was in cut it to 3. He comes in and were down 9 15 seconds later. Sometimes you gotta just ride the hot group

Melo throwing up random hail mary 3's and Gordon missing open jump shots killed the momentum other guys had built. I only caught the 4th quarter but those two both looked complacent

Miller is going to be special. Refs gave us the shaft, long and hard. They let Detroit play physical and blew the whistle on us for petty stuff. NBA hates the Charlotte market, so don't expect much. Always puzzles me how the Hornets are the only team in the NBA without the classic "home court" advantage. It is what it is.

I miss the hive.

Miller played 33 minutes and was only a -2.

Washington, Hayward, Rozier, and Ball all played around the same minutes and were anywhere from -7 to -12.

Plus-minus isn’t a great indicator of defense but it can be a good indicator of which players are on the court when the team goes on a run.

Of course Miller got taken out as soon as he cut the game to four with his massive dunk.

Clifford is going to coach himself out of a job because he simply doesn’t understand when to take guys out and when to leave them in.

Williams still better.  I still don't understand why we don't have both other then mj being a cheap ass

I'm big on Mark Williams. But trading Duren for a few dimes and nickels to draft the likes of Bryce McGowens when we could have both is some Scott Fitterer bullshit.

Yeah it was basically to save money for Miles' contract as I remember it. Just take the guy and figure it out later. He's way more valuable than a couple 2nds or whatever we got. GM's are supposed to figure that poo out

Absolutely. It looks even worse to know keeping Miles Bridges around with his heavy baggage was a significant factor in the trade.

This is a franchise that has had either average mediocre or laughably poor center play for the better part of 2 decades now with Al Jefferson being one of the few bright spots. It'd be nice to potentially have a 1-2 punch under rookie contracts and clearly we could use some more physicality around the rim.

But missteps like this are why Mitch wore out his welcome with the Lakers and why he will end things the same way here.

    • He makes a good point about Wallace.  In fairness to Wallace it is hard to play your position as freely as you need to when your defensive line is getting pushed around like ragdolls.  One of the greatest attributes a defensive line has is sucking up blocks, freeing up your linebackers.  Our defensive line couldn't suck up a lollipop more or less blocks.  I think Evans, Sanders and Tremble are going to be a really nice TE group.  I can see all three getting time on the field.  If Sanders can improve as a blocker teams won't be so inclined to believe it is a pass play whenever Sanders is on the field.  Ryan Fitzgerald, I think was an awesome pick-up. Hopefully he can fill our kicker void. Luke Kandra many turn out to be our next Norwell.  Everything I have heard about him says he's a beast.  He needs some refinement, but the good news is he's got Hunt and Lewis (arguably the best guard tandem in the league) to learn from.
    • Great teams build through the draft and have several young players that start that are on rookie contracts. It's important to hit on players in rounds 4 thru 7.  These should be future starters and solid depth.  When you hit on most of your picks you free up a lot of cap space for those one- or two-year players to fill spots you are thin at. No GM is going to perfect on all their picks.  You're going to whiff every once in a while.  That was Hurney problem.  He'd nail the first pick but after that it was reach after reach and we couldn't get any depth on this team. I'm excited about Morgan as our GM and hopefully he'll be around a long time.  It will be even better if Canales can continue to grow as a head coach, both in the development of young players and play calling. I remember last season after Young came back in the lineup and started to perform well.  We saw different plays I had only seen other teams use.   If Canales's play design and play calling continue to grow. Morgan and Canales will be linked together for a long time.  It would be nice to see a Coach and GM together for a decade or two. Go Panthers
    • They also came out for the encore and the singers were dressed in canes jerseys. Pretty fuging cool.
