He looked decent dumping the ball off underneath - besides the 3 back breaking INTs of course.

he looked good when the Colts just flat out busted coverage and didn't play defense.  Which were his two best plays.  I mean, credit for seeing it.  But that was the best players on the D.  Because this O can't actually challenge and beat people.

I didn't advocate for sticking with Ron.   I'm just acknowledging Wilks is essentially Ron (which is what YOU are advocating for).

I've been consistent.  For YEARS.  We need young offensive minds.  That's what I wanted post Ron Rivera.  That's who I want to be hired.   Which we haven't done.

and post Ron we have hired a fraudulent defensive college coach and an old dinosaur retread HC who surrounded himself with older dinosaurs to oversee things.

We went to a SB with Ron.

You seem stuck on Wilks like he is the only HC I want. I said we should have kept him over Frank.

As for now my #1 HC would be Harbaugh. Hand him the keys and let him turn this franchise around. I don't trust Tepper making any decisions moving forward.

I agree and I am over-reacting but are you going to disagree that Bryce is limited at the NFL level? Because that's all I'm saying. He can work around his deficiencies, and the Panthers can get better, NFL teams can turn it around in a hurry because it's happened quite a lot. But are you expecting that to happen here? Under this ownership? With this head coach? With this rookie QB? With no 1st round pick next year? That's the real problem I'm having with all of this, it's based on what we know right here right now. It's tough!

Still going to tune in a little and watch, because at the end of the day Bryce intrigues me and I want to watch him grow. But we got to get something here and there, not what we saw yesterday against the worst defense in the league right now. Outside of Bryce, it appears we can't draft or develop talent at all, and I've always viewed that when a team cannot draft or develop any talent, then that always hits said team very hard in the following 2-3 years.

Look at our draft return this year right now. Early returns are absolutely brutal right now, room to improve everywhere, but brutal right now. Mingo had 1 catch yesterday for 5 yards against the worst defense in the league. Downs, who we would've taken in the 2nd round if we had a freaking fan vote online for it (we should try that, would be fun as hell), is an immediate impact starter in the NFL. These kinds of misses are going to bite us these next 2-3 years before they're sadly released into the waiver wire void where all draft busts go.

Fixes I'd do, time to focus on beefing up the line inside out RIGHT NOW. Cut your losses on Ickey at LT and move him to LG where he belongs, let him build a rapport with Bozeman and keep the right side intact. We actually have okay depth at the inside spots if we do that. Run whoever at LT and let it ride from there, we've got to turn back to a bull rushing team the rest of the year.

Get Laviska back in there asap when he returns, screens all day to him. Let Mingo continue to develop, but test his butt on hard routes and find out if he's a true 1 sooner rather than later. Get Tremble more looks since he can block and catch a little, and keep doing your thing until the season ends.

Best answer I could give to that honestly is this...

If you were to ask me who was the better quarterback between Joe Montana and Dan Marino, I'd say Dan Marino.

But ask me (or anyone, honestly) who had the better career, pretty much everybody is going to say Montana.

The difference, of course, was the teams around them.

That's where we have to look as well...

I don't know who you want.  I simply responded to your post about we should of hired Wilks.  We shouldn't of.  We shouldn't of hired Frank.  We shouldn't of hired Rhule.

and we shouldn't hire Harbaugh.   He is a problem waiting to happen too.  So maybe we will.

I felt like, mechanically, he was off. Decision-making was way off and his accuracy wasn't there, nor was his confidence. I liked his willingness to scramble and run for first downs -- he's gonna have to do that more often because it adds a much-needed wrinkle. He's better at it than he seems to think. I don't subscribe to the "noodle arm" BS because he's fit throws into tight windows (Thielen, 4th and 2, comes to mind) but the decision-making has to be better and sadly, the line and WRs need to give him more help than they're capable of providing.

The protection problems make it extremely hard to properly evaluate him.

I've come to accept that Moton at LT is just never gonna happen. Fir the scheme we're running though, it'd make some sense.

What I think (hope) ultimately happens is he goes to left guard and we got a more WCO type tackle next year.

No trade Moton as a RT at the end of the year and flip the cheaper rookie to RT, or build up his value as a LT again and just trade him for people that fit better into their desired scheme (what they should have done when they committed to it this year). The only LT option went on IR. Maybe he can do LT in this scheme next year but that is a whole other issue. As bad as he is this year, he is still the best option moving forward and if they changed the blocking scheme then it's not a huge negative like it is in their currant mess.

There are plenty of OGs outside of the first, let alone top 10, to draft every year. I would rather see him get a shot at RT than LG moving forward.

I missed a lot of the Houston game so couldn't comment on that. Bryce is a rookie who's allowed to have bad games, he will bounce back! But I want the confident version of him out there testing his limits, not the scared indecisive guy.

his average game this year will be better than yesterday's but probably worse than the Houston game.

Selective memory from some on here have them forgetting the great plays he made that game, that they continue to parrot he can't do. Additional examples of selective memory include, conveniently ignoring his LT is the worst in the league.

But Bryce's gotta be better. He IS better than yesterday -- and he needs to prove that.

Well damn who should we hire?

he had 35 yards at the half

I took a screenshot and posted it in the game day thread.  Young was at -9 yards passing about half way through the 2nd quarter.  In the 4th quarter as team's defenses are protecting leads is where Young is padding his stats.  They concede the underneath stuff and coincidentally where he thrives.

I don't wanna trade Moton.

Christensen at LT is definitely an option but I don't know that it's the best long term option.

    • I used to think Juan was a Zod alt. Agree he's a great poster.
    • Hawks said nah we good and sent him to the shadow realm aka the Wizards. Cold blooded. I mean they're 2-2 in a series with a young up and coming Knicks team largely through 34 year old CJ McCollum. Even if they ultimately lose the series at least they are there and have something to build on. I think Hornets fans are just beaten down and lack the objectivity to assess the situation. They think we are going to get so much worse if and when we finally change gears. Worse how? We've already been a lottery team for years now. We've already been looking to win our first playoff series in about a quarter century. We already can't get past the play in and in failing to do so we have completely embarrassed ourselves twice looking like we don't even belong. Honestly there is absolutely no excuse for a team like the Magic to be more competitive and successful than us in the playoffs. Absolutely disgusting. But that's just me. I was fuging lit when we got the Hornets back in Charlotte but that is old old news. It's time for these boys to get into a playoff series. Enough is enough. If they can't do it for 2026-27 then they need to make wholesale changes regardless.
    • Not one single pick that is asking me why we drafted a guy in the first place. It was a guy we needed and/or a guy that had certain traits making them stand out. Best of all, I feel everyone we drafted are capable of stepping onto the field this year and have a meaningful role (even Kuwatch on special teams). Obviously, nothing is guaranteed but I'm not seeing any huge flags on guys because they're risky projects or massive overreaches.
