Said a while back we can't protect Young because we have no run game and a line that isn't suited to pass blocking a WCO.

Fell victim to it again tonight, with the additional problem of a banged up defense being almost completely unable to generate any pass rush.

Bagent had plenty of time to sit back and make reads. Young? Under duress from damn near start to finish.

Icing on the cake? A horrible decision to go for a 59 yard field goal. Frank will have to own that one

Still a chance to win some games if the defense gets healthy, mind you. But unless something major changes with the OL, the offense is largely kaput.

Said it elsewhere: If there's a sacrificial lamb chosen, it could wind up being James Campen. He won't deserve it because he didn't choose to run a scheme that didn't fit the personnel we have, but I won't be surprised if he bears the blame.

Bigger firings may be possible but I don't know if that happens. We'll see.

I used to think that Tepper was a smart man, but if he is too stubborn to see that he, himself is the largest part of the problem with this organization, he is just a grill cook that got lucky with some stocks and is a loser to the highest degree.

I don't think he's an abject idiot, but he simply does not understand football.

That's not necessarily a problem...unless he thinks he does.

I fear that's where we're at, and I don't know if there's a way out anytime soon.

My biggest worry is the next stupid decision will come far sooner than anything good.

I was just thinking about how Campen is going to be fired...

Then I thought how everyone's going to be fired.

Stomach issues 😣

Haven't changed on that front. Still don't want Tepper doing anything at all without hiring a consultant.

Firing Campen wouldn't require Tepper though. That'd be Reich's call.

It would also be unfair, but... 😕

Sorry, dude.

I'm not going to presume...

I've had my issues in the past, mainly with ulcers, but Prevacid literally got rid of a problem that I had had for years.

Too bad there's no quick fix for our team (Colbert can't even execute that hocus-pocus).

I completely agree.  I see how Campen could end up being the sacrificial lamb but it does not seem logical and most folks can see through that.  Same core group that was a bright spot last year.  A player can regress but cant see it happening to the entire line at once.

The run blocking scheme doesn't fit the oline. The passing style doesn't fit the offense, it's built for power run and play action passing for deep chunk plays. Not some horizontal stretch the field sideline to sideline dink and dunk west coast zone read offense.

So is that the qb the coaching staff planned for didn't get picked or just the coaching staff is all together a bunch of idiots.

This may be the worst Panthers team I've ever seen. Even the lame duck year for Fox and the Weinke season had something besides despair and futility.

Chicago had a game plan that tried to give their rookie QB some options. Ours just marched him out there to stand in place and show how unfazed he was by it all I guess.

This team has no life, no drive and no reason to take the field but to grab a paycheck. They play with the enthusiasm of a KFC late Friday night crew.

It has been poorly put together, poorly coached and from all examples I'm seeing, it has been poorly evaluated for what it could do. We run a WCO that moves with no purpose, no protection and no tempo. We run a hybrid 3-4 but don't have the personnnel to run it (and we've been trying to builld that since Tepper arrived for some stupid reason).

Our receiving corps is so bad that it makes me miss the days of Kelvin Benjamin. We keep trotting out the worst starting running back in the league and the only guy smaller than Bryce Young who isn't a kicker. We have what, like 5 tight ends and we have no frikkin idea how to use them because they neither block nor catch.

And our offensive line. They're just offensive. They don't work as a group, the scheme doesn't match their abilities and Bryce gets run over by a jailbreak every fifth play... if we even get a fifth play.

The most electric play of the entire frikkin year was a punt return last night. And the only reliable offensive weapon we have is Eddie Piniero.

I've been saying we need to blow this up and start over. At this rate it is going to collapse on itself and do the trick for us.

Bad Day Falling GIF by Buyout Footage

I can answer the 3-4 question, that's 100% because of Tepper. He's wanted the team to run it since he bought it because the Steelers.

Seriously that's it.

To me, Reich bears the brunt of the responsibility (as he should) for trying to run an offense that our personnel is not suited for.  Why we haven’t crafted an offense similar to what Bryce ran at Alabama is beyond me. We’re going to kill this kid’s confidence, if not literally get him killed, a la David Carr if something is not done to right the ship.

    • forgot to include the quote: best play in panther history   Pretty great.  X Clown also. I was always real fond of Jake’s 1st play vs Jacksonville simply for his entrance into the huddle which completely woke people up. That and what they went on to do in that game was a major turning point for the franchise.IMO. Kris Jenkins’ kick xp block vs TB is a big one for me.
