Scheme issues continue

Im all for starting rookie QB's to get that learning curve out of the way and take advantage of the rookie wages.. but at this point we have to sit him the rest of the year. We cannot afford him to get hurt at the end of this season, impacting the start of next when we WILL have a new scheme and coaching staff..

I think this is officially a worse year then the 'Pickles' year.. and I watched ALL those games.

You would think that they could try new wide receivers, adjust the play calls etc. there really is zero excuse for the results we have had. The Giants managed to win a game yesterday with an undrafted rookie QB and even he threw for three touchdowns. Hell, you could pull out a game like when we direct snapped to Deangelo Williams the entire fugging game against Atlanta back in the day when we had Chris Weinkie in who attempted less than 5 passes, if I’m not mistaken. There are ways to win football games dispite the team’s shortcomings, we just don’t have a coaching staff capable of pulling out a win no matter what the circumstances are, good or bad.

Continuing to go pass heavy against Dallas definitely wasn't the answer.

Makes sense what Greg is saying and what some have said all along.  I have concerns about Bryce that grow weekly but agree with him completely.

Bryce may not be the guy. It's also possible that even if he were the guy, what makes him the guy is going to get pounded out of him.

In this environment, it's hard to say.

The one thing you can say about Young is he can't stay in the traditional pocket and they need to give him space to have a chance. That isn't performance based but just an observation. He is swalloed up so fast I'm not even sure he can throw it away. Even with better blocking keeping the sacks off won't change that.

They have to try but there is not much to hope for there. Run another scheme further away from what he needs or keep doing more of the same while talking about changing personnel chasing that dream and avoiding the sad truth about his severe limitations. He doesn't have the wheels to Willson it away and create the space he needs to function.

They can't change anything because they already know it won't work any better and they also know they can't make what they want to work so it's full steam ahead waiting for the axe to fall. Plus Reich is the pivot point on coaching and his change record is the nail in their coffin for them all.

    • It appears that he sees things differently than the QB and OC, so Cam's advice is spot on. It isn't about number of targets, it's about quality of targets. Trust and being on the same page. BY doesn't know how to anticipate what XL is doing. And XL doesn't like where BY is placing passes. One on one film study would go a long way. More for BY than XL though. He has to adjust to XL. I really don't think XL can adjust on the fly.
    • If the team shows improvement, then he shouldn't be in danger of losing his job - even if the record doesn't reflect. This was a very young team (with a lot of new vet starters) that overperformed last season. Somebody's doing something right. Consistency is key with so much youth. And we're potentially looking at new starters at ILB and FS. Those are positions that take time to fully understand the defense. ILB calls the front 7. Safety calls the back 4. Injuries at WR and IOL killed the offense last season. Depth needs to be upgraded. Same with Edge. I think they would have won more games if Pat Jones doesn't go down early. Be smart with the roster and draft. Trade players for assets when it's time to pay them more than they're worth - yes, that includes BY if he doesn't make a pretty big jump. That's one of the many reasons Tillis is as important as anyone to the future of this team.
    • He had heart surgery a while back he looks Fraile I hope he is okay
