Where we were vs. where we are.....

How can you not watch the clip from Wilk's post game speech after the Detroit game and not be sick at the current state of our team.

If there is a sliver of hope that Tepper trolls this board, or someone not about to be fired on Mint Street reads this, please I beg of you......

Tepper, re-hire WIlks.  If you need to stand on your wallet to do so in order to make up for not hiring him in the first place do it.  You need Wilks or Evero, plain and simple.  After hearing from Cam, who by the way, if in the top 5 of all time great Carolina Panthers (Luke, CAM, Peppers, Smitty, GO) , this team needs LEADERSHIP over anything else.

The front office needs leadership.  Hire a President of Football Operations.  But install clear NFL leadership.  Scheme will follow.

Oddly enough, the title of the website with the article is CULTURE

Tepper doesn't want a football coach. He wants a life coach. He wants a slick talking motivational speaker/preacher and a "well spoken" QB with good manners you can take home to your grandmother.

meet our next INCREDIBLE beta coach. The Chargers offense this year has been as exciting as C-SPAN

The problem is Tepper. He has all of his employees running around throwing each other under the bus to make sure they stay on his good side. There is no cohesion because he is micromanaging all of them.

The next person that needs to be fired is Nicole, Followed by Fitt and the rest of the lacky's, then Tepper needs to step back and go do something else. Find a hobby that doesn't involve fuging around with the football team on a daily basis.

Cam absolutely nailed it in one of his podcasts about the downfall of the Panthers and it's because of Tepper's meddling that has destroyed the culture of the team and locker room. Tepper knows he has money and thinks he can just hire the biggest next big name in football and expect great things from it. Hired Rhule when there was a lot of hype, hired Joe Brady as OC even though he lacked exp, hired this expensive coaching staff this offseason. Next he will try to hire Ben Johnson because he is the hottest name this offseason. Tepper understands money, but he doesn't understand human relationship and football is very much about camaraderie. Tepper needs to hire a leader in his next hire, look what Dan Campbell has done for the Lions after decades of losing.

Yeah, this dude ain't it. The Cowboys and Chargers were 8th and 10th in the NFL in yardage last year. Moore goes from Dallas to LA and the Cowboys bump up to 4th this year while the Chargers drop to 17th. A couple years ago this guy was a popular talking head pick as a future hotshot head coach prospect. He might be heading back to the position coach ranks after this year though.

He definitely looks like someone I'm not excited about at all!

To be fair to Moore, the receivers have all been hurt, ekeler got hurt, and Herbert is now out for the year.

Play design and calling hasnt been abysmal, it's been more related to talent and injuries, the chargers mainly suck because their defense is absolutely garbage.

Moore isn't a bad OC. He's no Kyle shannahan savant, but he's not bad either.

This is not me endorsing him for our next HC, just wanted to throw some context into the chargers backslide.

    • I like what Freeling brings to the table all around. If he is willing to put in the work he has an opportunity to be one of the better Tackles in the league down the line. Hunter Brazzell and Hecht are all premium additions but development from our staff are the key to unlocking them. Hopefully Lee and Wheatley will provide much needed additional depth to our secondary. Beyond that it's important not to get too caught up in draft grades. Many drafts over the years that turned out to be really good were not fawned over with praise. While some that were ended up being historical duds. Panthers fans ought to know this as well as anyone. In conclusion...
    • Maybe a bit of a homer take but I can't give us a grade lower than A.   Freeling was arguably the best LT prospect in the draft.  His athletic ability is off the chart and at 6'7" that can move.  It was a no brainer pick.   Hunter's key word is Violence. Putting him next to Brown should scare an offensive coordinator. These two give Scourton and Phillips plenty of chances to get one on one opportunities. Brazzell, another tall receiver with sprinter speed.  Our WR room is filled with tall talented WR.  Brazzell is going to give us a WR that can take to roof off the defense.  Basically Jimmy Horn with size. W. Lee III has a nickname of the Blanket. (heard this on the Beleav podcast with J. Stewart)  What a great name.  A great value in the 5th round. Hecht A strong, fast and extremely smart center. Many had him listed as the best center in the draft.  He's most likely a starter sooner than later. Wheatley A good safety in round 5.  Someone who could see playing time.   Kuwatch  I love this pick.  At minimum he will be a key piece on special teams and with some good coaching he'll see some packages where he'll play.  His down piece is he doesn't stay up in the running game.  Good coaching will fix this.  He reminds me a bit of A.J. Klein.   All these picks were great value.  I believe everyone of them were graded higher than the pick we took them.   Dan Morgan is IMO doing a great job turning this team into a good team with great depth.
