He literally stated he’s never had a sip of alcohol or smoked weed. Weed does smell good.

These over the top southern moral crosses are a little dated, I would highly suggest visiting other parts of the country some time.

The issue is that Cam isn't being intellectually honest with himself.  You know who else has that issue?  David Tepper.

Cam is a Panther legend.  From that position he's allowed to make whatever observations he wants, and yes, it gives him a lot more reach than most.

But none of that qualifies him to be the guy running this team.

Aren’t we stuck with Jonathan Mingo, a WR with a 3rd round grade we took at the top of the 2nd, for 4 years bc the FO listened to former players on who they preferred? Steve Smith took credit for that selection IIRC

They don't even have to be moral crosses. Look, there are a lot of people who cannot get past Cam's wardrobe, so asking them to get onboard if he were to have a position of management, power and authority? Good luck with that.

You know them- they're response is, "Just shut up and play football."

I would absolutely be down for this. Cam is already a business man more than other athletes even before he stopped playing. The team from a popular stand point was the highest its ever been with Cam here and thats just off his personality alone. I think he would definitely have a plan and can relate to the players the most.

I agree he shouldn't be disqualified for that, but damn weed does not smell good

I  am down with Olsen as HC, but I can't see Cam as President. Some other role where he is allowed to bring some attitude and culture to the team would be great though. Like just have him around the team year round and let his influence spread through the building. Cam put in the time and refused to lose, it wasn't in his mindset. We need that.

I don’t know about team president, but I’d absolutely be cool with Cam in a consultant role within the team. He has been spot on about the culture and pulse of this team ever since he came back under Rhule.

Wouldn't he rather do that for the Falcons though? Sure he could do it remote, but I bet he has zero interest in ever stepping foot in Charlotte again.

You want Cam to take a Steve Smith role? He’s the reason we have Mingo. Have you not noticed a trend where the best teams just let their coaches decide who they want?

    • Bryce isn't a risk-taking gunslinger.  That's just QB DNA.  No one has ever said that is what we were drafting when we went that route.  That's my point.  That's not Bryce. Can you make Alex Smith throw deep? Sure.  He will occasionally.  In the reverse, can you ask Brett Favre to just take the easy layups? Sure.  He can in moments.  But in the end, they are what they are.  as I have said, Canales probably could win more games with PJ Walker.  And Bryce is a better overall QB than PJ.  PJ Walker would also have much worse games mixed in that Bryce would.
    • From what i see, Canales offense requires a QB that is willing to take chances to maximize the offense. XL is also the kind of receiver that needs a qb to be risky to bring out his full potential. Its just a matter of if Bryce is gonna be that QB.
    • Baker just played how Baker played.... everywhere but here. He is a risk taking gunslinger.  Always has been.  And last year was asked to be what he was.   Geno Smith was the best deep ball passer in the NFL his comeback season.  Wasn't even close that year.  Again, that's the type passer Canales has always been around in the offenses he has been part of.  The pass game that compliments the stubborn run is the deep chunk play pass game.   And that was his first investment with XL.  My continued point, is the same as going into last season.  It's a bad marriage going in.  The QB doesn't fit the scheme.  Again.  Carrol/Fox/Ron....all paired up their boring football with risk taking QBs.  And again, I'm fine if that is where we are going.  It's not my preference but that's not my argument.  I'm saying if we are doing that, we need a QB that matches it.
