Many posters are saying Young's throws were slow. Funny, I haven't seen that comment in threads on other weeks nor in predraft evaluations. Not even in Panthers Twitter/X where they tear everything apart. This place has gotten so toxic.

So let's consider this scenario for those who enjoy counting the speed of throws. It's raining. Heavy rain most of the game and even when it went to light rain everything/everyone was wet. Very wet. And maybe not 30mph wind gusts but the wind was enough of a factor that Tabor called a timeout so Hecker was punting with the wind. Now, in those conditions, as a receiver, would you want a speedball coming your way or a slower ball, easily catchable, no matter what gloves you have on? Bingo! And as for the pass defenders, everybody was running slower with bad footing because of the conditions. Everybody.

Bryce Young intentionally threw slower balls because of the conditions so his receivers had better chances of catching them. Kid is smart. Smarter than some Huddle posters. Even Josh Allen has said he does that in bad weather games. I'd say it's QB101.

Now, he may still end up being another Ryan Fitzpatrick ["Too much magic. Too much magic." but I digress.] Right now he's our QB1. Rookie mistakes, yes. Things to work on offseason, yes. But I'll cheer him and the team to victory every time and celebrate when they win.

That seems some major reaching there, both the claims of not seeing it in other threads (it absolutely HAS been there, myself included) and the Bryce was somehow taking stuff off because of the weather. Bryce's throws have been slow all season, and it takes all of his frame to get any kind of oomph. I'm not sure what else to really say beyond that, as it is abundantly clear; his throws are consistenly underthrown and take forever to reach their destination. If there's anything Bryce does not need to do, it's throw the ball slower.

Bryce has been intentionally throwing floaters and ducks all season.   I will subscribe to your newsletter sir.

2 of the top teams in the NFL are led by Tua and Brock Purdy...

Yeah, and?

You do realize Bryce is a midget compared to even Tua and Purdy, right? Not to mention Tua and Purdy aren't cursed with noodle arms, unlike Bryce.

Here's Brock Tua in the same photo. Both are 6'1", and their eyes level:FjLKnx7XoAAZtA_.thumb.jpeg.37fc92ea715e96af4b7005895f9cee09.jpeg

Here's Tua next to Kyler Murray, who is measured at 5'10". There is a big difference:

And finally here's Kyler Murray standing next to Bryce. Notice anything? There is no way Bryce is 5'10":

To give you an idea of where Bryce stands, here's an illustration:

Here's a couple of more photos to show how ridiculous your physical comparison of Bryce Young to Tua and Brock truly is. Keep in mind that both Dwayne Haskins (RIP) and Cj Stroud are measured at 6'3", and both Kyler Murray and Bryce Young are measured at 5'10", although I doubt Bryce is even that tall in real life. Maybe they were using Alabama units at the combine when they measured Bryce.

By the way, aren't you way overdue for a lightbulb moment? That's right, we passed on Stroud for a veritable midget.

Sorry for the delayed response. I was out of state for my fiancée graduation. I'll put together some clips of what I'm talking about and dig into a little more tonight. I'll throw it in an article and post it.

I'm not saying Young is Tom Brady by any means, but he shows some great flashes given his circumstance and the talent around him especially for a rookie.

The revisionist history saying no one said anything? No it was said, no one wanted to hear it. They just kept saying SEC and processor and NFL ready.

Yep, there had been plenty of danger signs all along the path we took. Lesson learned: never drink that 'Bama kool-aid.

As a Bama grad, I’m a Bryce fan, and I hope he figures this thing out. I was pleased with that last drive. However, I still want to see more out of his passes. The ~20 yarder to Tremble to get off the goal line took forever to get to him, and the pass to Minot was just a wounded duck with a nice adjustment (granted, the rain may have caused the ball to come out funny).

I do hope Bryce and the team can build in this.

agreed but I truly think the weather was affecting those balls. We've seen him throw deep this year without issue, in fact last week people were lamenting he overthrew mingo.

lol what’s the point of this? He has been officially measured for height at the combine. He is just over 5’10” which is still very small. No need to try to over exaggerate something that is already proven.

My thought exactly. Bryce has been subpar overall and especially poor deep downfield, but if actual evidence exists to the contrary that doesn't look like this, I'll stand corrected.

Sorry, I've missed seeing your posts. Don't feel slighted lol. I've been avoiding this place because of the toxicity. Look once a week mostly skimming topics.

How he throws is how he has been throwing his whole football life. It is what it is. I still maintain that Young adjusted his throwing action because of the conditions. Even Eddie Pineiro said after the game that the winds were swirling.

People are mad at those who don’t believe for disagreeing with them, and that is why this really factioned off. The way people talked even before the draft if you didn’t want Young? It could be called abuse. Certainly insulting.

And all year most have denied any of it was his fault. Coaches, WRs, OL, if only they were better.

Reich’s and Brown’s offense looked horrible because why? They wouldn’t throw deep. Why in the hell wouldn’t they throw deep? Honestly, can’t defend it, but I think I know why.

    • Aho is the poster child for bitches. When he has the puck he just spins around like a Disney princess. Meanwhile teams like the rangers actually go to the goal, get traffic to the net and work the puck closer to get good scoring opportunities.    This team reminds me of manning’s colts. They’d be great in the regular season, perennial favorites to win the the Super Bowl. Then in the playoffs they always ran into a more physical (usually less talented) team who just muscled them into submission. The NFL even made the illegal contact penalty to help them win, to no avail.
